Table change

Our motorhome had a pedestal table that could go in front of the sofa or other locations. We found it inconvenient to use. It was fine for eating, but not to leave up. It was long and narrow, and always in the way! On our last trip, we left it home and used a portable table instead.

After searching unsuccessfully for a different table, I finally made one. It seems to work much better! It is oval, 22 x 27. (The other was 38 x18). By mounting the base off-center, you can rotate the top so it is over your lap for eating, but further away when just relaxing. Not nearly as heavy or bulky either. Seems to work well for us!

Looks nice. Did you make it completely from scratch of did you find the table top someplace and attach mounting hardware?

I had an old table top that I stripped and stained. Transferred the base from the old one. Trying to get a stain to somewhat go with the Thor cabinet color was a challenge!

Your table looks really nice! I removed the mounting bracket under my factory table right after we got our Challenger and threw the table top away. I found a piece of stone that was just the right size and used it for the first year. Then this year I tossed it and made one out of oak. Still have to router the edge the way I want it but don't have my router with me but I like the wood look better.

I also have to try to do the stain match when I get home and I'm sure it won't be easy. Yours looks about the same as mine. Is it kind of a dark walnut?

Our cabinets are the glazed Milan Cherry. There aren't any stain colors near that. I finally mixed some colors. It looks more like a dark walnut than cherry. I wondered if Thor had a color chart for touchups?
