Table pedestal Bases
Hi All,
After seeing that Thor installed flush pedestal bases in at least my version MH after 2015, I thought that I would try a get rid of those ugly trip hazards...
I used a CP Products CP-48732 replacement base $7.
Slightly tighter fit with originals tubes and cheaper quality but they work and I painted them brown anyway.
Used a 2 1/2" hole saw.
This was the risky part, not knowing exactly what lay beneath. I did drill very small pilot holes around the circular area to be cut to see if it bottomed out anywhere. The floor is three layers, vinyl/1/2" ply/1/16" sheet metal then a box section to the outside sheet metal floor.
The replacement bases require 2" deep hole.
I was thinking that if all else failed, I would return the originals.
Everything went well (no plumbing/electrical/mechanical found) just had to drill pilot holes for the new screw positions just to break through the 1st layer of sheet metal.
Table is stable and now can be removed without us breaking our necks...
Rgds
Tex.
