We were advised by our local Tint installer to bring in the RV and he will check our glass for that very reason. He advised Ron that some RVs do not have the correct glass for tinting...and when the tint material gets hot it will cause failure in the glass.

By tinted glass I'm guessing he's referring to film and not glass color.

The dark glass on motorhomes is notorious for absorbing heat!

Kev

I put ceramic tint on my driver, passenger and windshield. For the windshield, I put the lightest tint possible. Is it illegal? Yes. Am I 100% more comfortable driving in FL summers? Yes. Am I willing to risk the 1% chance (if not less) of getting pulled over? Yes.

Never thought about the rest of the windows being colored glass and having no heat reduction value. Looks like I'll be heading back to the tint shop!

Here's mine Suntek Cxp 18 (Ceramic type) on the top
And 3M Crystalline 60 ( infaraed film ) on the bottoms
I wanted the tops darker for glare reduction and wanted something very light for nighttime driving

Great idea with going darker on the top part. Looks sharp!

Go with a Ceramic or Infrared film they block out the most heat

Thank you for your post regarding tint film. We are considering doing our side windows up front ... do you agree with what we were told..regarding the quality of glass used on those side windows ?
With that said...which film do you recommend ?

I didn't look at the glass markings (As1 or As2 etc) but I would recommend a high heat rejecting film such as a ceramic or infrared film. There's many good brands like Llumar,Suntek and 3M
