Question TireMinder Calibration Question

Does anyone know of a way to calibrate a TireMinder TPMS so that pressures reported by the TPMS agree with pressures taken using manual gauges? (The manual gauge guarantee indicates it is accurate to within 1 PSI.)

When I measure tire pressure manually, I get one reading (e.g., 82 PSI). However, when we check pressure using the TPMS, there may be several PSI difference (e.g., a tire that checked manually at 82 PSI is being reported by the TPMS as being at 87 PSI).

The TireMinder manual did not give sufficient guidance - indicating the unit calibrates automatically (turn it on, read the sensors.)

Thank you in advance.

All measurements were made when the tires were cold.

Your gauge is only reading pressure whereas your monitor is also reading temperature which a couple of degrees could/would make a difference.

I don't expect the TPMS sensors to exactly agree with the pressure that I put in the tire using my air chuck gauge. What I am interested in is a sudden lost of pressure in a tire or a slow loss of pressure that reduces the tire pressure below the set point.

As far as the temperature of the air in a tire, it would not affect the readings between the sensor and the tire gauge if you took the tire gauge reading just before you installed the sensor.

When you do take a tire pressure reading you will lose a small amount of pressure when you remove the gauge from the tire valve and likewise you will lose a bit of pressure when you install the sensor.

Tire minder calibration

I use my tire minder to check my pressures.I also have a tire minder digital gauge but find that the readings can be off quite a bit depending on how you push it into the valve stem. The tpms seems to work well and I don't think there is any way to calibrate it.You can try calling them.Ihave in the past and they are very helpful.
