So, I felt that I needed to cut about 3” off of the receiver shaft to keep everything nice and close to the RV bumper. This required drilling and threading a new hole for securing the mount to receiver. Also to give myself plenty of room for the tow dolly hook up. I inverted the tow hitch to keep dolly tongue level and for extra road clearance going through dips.

When I cut the shaft of the bike mount, I didn’t quite give myself enough room to lower the boom. This is not important to me at all, but may be for you.
