TV Safety Shut Off

How can I disable the TV safety shutoff so it can be on when the ignition is on?
Thanks

It generally depends on the radio installed and overriding the feature involves changing one wire from switched (connected to ignition) to un-switched.

If I am not mistaken that safety feature is a federal requirement and if overridden could result (in some states) in a distracted driving charge and automatic fault in the event of an accident. State of registration has no bearing on where an accident occurs.

Preform the change at your own risk.

Thank you. Hoping for something a little more detailed. Anybody?
As far as the rest of your response, thanks but I think I'm fine and had really hoped to not go down that road.

So did the person that hit me (white rental car) while doing 50 MPH because they were too busy watching a DVD and talking on their cell phone to see traffic stopped for a red light. The vehicle that hit me was a Ford E250 service van and the driver didn't attempt applying the brakes before impact. I was hit with such force that it deployed the safety head restraints and broke the drivers seat where the back mounts to the bottom.

The ambulance (in the picture) was for a three year old toddler, three cars up, that was injured in the chain reaction incident.

I still suffer from periodic pain in the lower back and hip from the force of the seat breaking and slamming into my back.

Trying watching this unfold in the rearview mirror knowing there isn't a d###ed thing you can do except stand on your brake to reduce the impact of hitting the car in front. According to the Police investigation I was pushed ten feet before impacting the car in front.

Here we go! If it gives you comfort, even if I were a complete imbecile, and decided to watch TV while driving, it is physically impossible for me to see my TV and drive. My truck has a DVD player, my Sienna has a DVD player, none of which are disabled with the ignition on and in fact you have to have it on. Does this federal law you speak of apply only to RV's or does it perhaps say something about the operator being able to view the TV? Sorry to hear about your accident.

I found the fix for my original question on rv.net if anyone else is interested in making this happen.

The issue is with an in dash DVD being used to play a movie being viewed on the television. That movie would/could also be displayed on the in-dash screen regardless of where the television is mounted.

On my prior class c (Forest River) the TV worked while rolling however the in-dash radio would not play a DVD. If someone wanted to watch a movie while travelling it had to be through an external DVD connected through the video switch or the television itself. If Thor took this a step further and disables the over cab television while driving I could see where this may be taking things to the extreme.
