Washer/dryer combo in a coach w/out pre-hookups

Some of you must have thought about doing this. HAS anyone done this? My wife would "REALLY LIKE" a single washer/dryer unit in our ws31. As far as space to do it, I think it is viable. From the pantry pull out on back, the ws31 is all closets & drawers. But, that is in the slide. Would adding the weight to the slide be "too much for it"? Maybe not right away, but over time I could imagine sag or alignment issues cropping up. She thinks above the drawers in the closet space would be perfect. I think that's too much weight to even think about installing to the existing frame work. :O I think only on the floor with a extra pad of 1/2 to 3/4" plywood with a catch pan would be a must.
Anyone have thoughts or experience in such an install? Thanks for any and all comments.

Yeah I don't think anyone on here has done it except 48n366 (now known as The Long Long Road):
http://thelonglongroad.com/

She had that, now discontinued, Axis floorplan with the bench/TV in the rear and the sink across from the bathroom.
The 25.1:
They removed that sink between the fridge and closet and put a stackable washer/dryer there.

"But, that is in the slide. Would adding the weight to the slide be "too much for it"?"

Ours has the hookups but they are in the full-wall slide as well. I've had zero slide issues and the weight of a washer & dryer scare me to death. I know it's designed and engineered for the weight but so are lots of other things that don't necessarily work out that way.

Just because you can do something: doesn't mean that it's the best thing to do...

I've been thinking about this also for quite some time for my 29m. Went to camping world to get measurement of the Splendid w/d. It will fit with all required space around it

My plan was to remove the make up table and drawers in the bedroom. This table is under the bedroom TV and in between the fridge and bedroom closet its also on the slide

Easy run for water, run under fridge to kitchen sink. Power is already at the table

My problem is I want to vent outside so will need to cut hole in the wall. Only measurement I forgot to get. There is a window on that wall and not sure if the vent opening is below the window. Its pretty close and I think window is in the way. Need to get that measurement

For water drainage I would cut another hole in the wall so drain hose could stick out. I'd mount a 3 inch sewer fitting connecter there. So I could run my sewer hose to it. When washing I'd connect sewer hose so it would go direct to sewer not my black or gray tank

I wasn't really worried about the extra weight on the slide until reading this thread. I'd need the weight of the unit and estimate the weight of the make up table and drawers to see how much it adds

I have a couple other projects before doing this. If I think it won't work then I'll get the washer from amazon the Bob posted

Don't want to speak too soon, but our W/D are also on the full wall slide of our Serrano 33W and everything has been fine....so far. ( Factory installed, which I can't say is better or worse than aftermarket installs.)

Only issue with aftermarket install would be resale ability.

JamieGeek, That link doesn't seem to show any pictures or story about the washer dryer that they put in. I have a 25.1 and would love to see what they did. Do you have a more direct link to that story? Thanks, MGoBlue.

Unfortunately, no. Not sure where she posted that (might have been on Facebook).

We have the Splendide Washer and dryer combo unit in our Monaco. It works alright but all clothes come out very wrinkled. And I mean very wrinkled. My thought is that the drum is just to small that the clothes don't tumble as much as they just roll in it, in a ball.

Jerry, have you done the Splendid w/d mod yet? I'm thinking the same. Maybe in outside kitchen could be possible. I've got Windsport 29M, done alot of same mods as you. You have great write ups!
