Another Hurricane Question 29M

Because I wasn't told 100% of the truth in purchasing my MH and I just received it last night, so I haven't been able to read everything yet...I have another question: is the door supposed to not open all the way? Only 90 dgs? It's pretty inconvenient when carrying things in and out. Never seen that before.

Thank you all! Happy camping!

Amespa,

Take a close look at the placement of the awning arms. Go ahead and run out the awning to its fully extended position and I think you will see why the coach door is limited in its swing-out. Most doors that I have seen are like that, and you may also want to get a cheap swimming noodle to keep the door from banging against the awning arm.

Have fun with your new home on wheels.

There is a strut at the bottom of the door that limits how far it will open. You could remove the strut but then you have nothing to hold the door in the wind.

Dave is correct. I removed the gas strut but didn't like the door opening and hitting the side. I put it back on.

You don't have awning arms that come down the side of your mh so the noodles are not needed.

Same question...

I was wondering the same thing. We just took delivery of our 29M two days ago (hello everyone!). When transferring stuff from our 5th wheel, the 90 degree opening became a bit obnoxious. Has anyone considered installing a good old-fashioned "keep the door open thingy" like many travel trailers have?

I almost cringe at the thought of adding something like that to the beautiful surface of the MH, but it might open up a whole new world.

Thoughts?

If you take the strut off there is a magnetic catch that is flat and doesn't look to bad. I've seen several of the mag catches but have no idea where to get them, sorry.
