Thanks for Classical Gas. Listened until the end; wouldn’t have been right to turn it off. Love some acoustic in the evenings.

I'm pretty new to the RV scene. I've been a musician for 40+ years and have a 3 piece rock band but my origins are acoustic folk music. I've been taking my full size Taylor 510 (made by Robert Taylor decades ago). It's a mahogany body - such a sweet, mellow sound. It takes up a bit too much space in the RV but if I'm going to play a guitar I want one of my good ones.

Dang, John Prine is a legend, you can't go wrong listening to him. I really don't have any expensive guitars, my Guild D-120 would be it. I wouldn't know what to with anything too pricey. Grew up not far from Nazereth and couldn't even afford a Sigma and now that I have some money the wife insists that paying the bills are more important. She doesn't see the use since most of my playing is on the back porch, lol.

This is probably the best song Jon Prine ever did!! It defines the perfect relationship to a "T"!!

If you can't pick a guitar then pick your nose...but at least, pick something!!!

Just Put a couple of small buttons at the bottom of each post:
One the "Like"; the other for "Thanks"
Let the system show the running totals that each person accumulates. Just list it underneath the info under their screen name and Avatar...

What does everyone else bring along? Any other instruments that anybody plays?
I usually bring my D-28 and a mando. My DW brings her hammered dulcimer. We never have had a negative experience.

Absolutely! I own five and most of our RV travel is to festivals that I perform at. And I’ve found in general travel that folks appreciate a guy with a guitar and pocket full of songs...

I also bring my guitar along, and lately, I've been writing RV-ing lyrics to the music that many people already know, so they can sing along. Some snippets:

To Eric Clapton’s “Cocaine”
You can use it to heat, or cook something to eat, Propane
If your water’s not hot, could be that you ain’t got Propane
Pilot light, warm at night, it’s alright: Propane
You can sail ‘cross the moon, in your hot air balloon, with Propane
When you fill up the tank, it can break the bank, Propane
Pilot light, warm at night, it’s alright: Propane

To Willie’s “On the Road Again”
Tow the Toad again
Just can’t wait to tow the toad again,
The life I love is going Jeeping with my friends,
And I cant wait to tow the toad again
Tow the Toad again
Hook the tow bar up and we go down the highway
Where the highway ends
Unhook and find ourselves a muddy byway
That’s my way
Tow the Toad again
Going places where I’ve never been
In the woods or in the mountains with my friends,
I cant wait to tow the toad again

To the Rascal’s “Groovin”
Cruisin…on a Wednesday afternoon
Really…couldn’t get away too soon
We’re heading eastward on Interstate 10
Making our way down to Florida again
But we’ll be back home, when the winter ends
Cruisin, cause it’s what we like to do
Really, could be the life for you too
We’ll keep on cruising sunny days away
Laughing as we take things, day by day
Lots of parks and campsites, we can stay
Cruisin…on a Wednesday afternoon
Really…couldn’t get away too soon
Ah-ha-haaa, Ah-ha-haaa, Ah-ha-haaaa
So many places that we want to see
We can be anywhere we want to be
We love the RV life, it feels so free
RVing fantasies
Taking life so easy
Cruisin…on a Wednesday afternoon
Really…couldn’t get away too soon
Ah-ha-haaa, Ah-ha-haaa, Ah-ha-haaaa

Camp guitars

I do play in the campground....and usually, people from the next campsite or maybe 2 over bring their chairs and a beer and sit and listen. This happens a lot.
My camping guitar is a Martin D-28 John Prine edition - No 67 out of 70.

I have been a guitarist since the 70's and have played professionally since the 80's. After getting bit by the RV bug last July and playing at several parks I decided to clear my schedule of most all my clients in the area I've been booking as a solo acoustic act and concentrate on developing campground contacts from the NC mountians to the Outer Banks. My wife now accompanys me and we're a duo that works quite well with the demographic we encounter. Campers are always a lot of fun to entertain and unless we are asked, we only play at the designated area at a chosen time by the management. We carry 3 or 4 guitars, amps, stands and also have a washer and dryer that go in our 2018 Thor Windsport 29 m.....we Love IT!!!!!!

What an amazing guitar!! If that is your "camping guitar", what's at Home?? I take my J12-16GT with for camping...still can't believe I have a Martin guitar as a "camper"

My wife and I are an acoustic duo. We go from the NC mountians to the Outer Banks to gigs and camp. We have a great time and people really like our material. I've been playing professionally since the 80's and now I only want to play if we're at campgrounds. The only way to camp!! Dba Acoustic Measures 2.0 Bob & Wendy Trice

Something like this?

Just hide it with your tools, and roll it out on the picnic table!
