Digital Video Recorders

Iím wondering if anyone has gone to the effort of hooking up a DVR, like a Tivo Bolt or Amazon Recast in their RV? Basically, you need to hook into the coax feed from the antenna, preferably after the amplifier. For the Bolt youíd then take your coax output from the Bolt and send it on to your TV set(s). With the Recast, you could put a FireTV Stick on every TV set (at a cost of about $35 - $45 a set + a WiFi router, as cheap as $30). The Recast will then broadcast its output, via WiFi. But most importantly it can record all of your shows. There is one version with 2 tuners for $189 and another with 4 tuners for $229.

I havenít done any of this yet but wondering if anyone out there has? And what your results have been with it?

sage...I look forward to the responses...I don't understand all the new tech on TV's while RVing but will hit the road soon for extended traveling and trying to figure it all out now. I can at least download the OTR channels.

We just stream our cable now (Playstation Vue) which comes with online DVR'ing. Don't need any dedicated hardware anymore, just select your show and watch whatever episode you want (well ok of the ones that have already aired). Can watch from anywhere that has a decent internet connection.

Watch on phone, tablet, internet TV, PC, etc.

That is the BOMB (Box OF Many Buttons). Many post on the forum about it. You should have a description of how it works in your Thor info packet or you can down load the instructions from the Internet.

im looking into mounting a camera up front on the top of the windshield or the overhang. when i rewire the back and side cameras im going to add a video server so all 4 are recording all the time

using this to attach the existing cameras to my tech cabinet.
