Does anyone carry a Scooter?

I’ve been looking at a couple of Pedigos a couple of Treks and a Raleigh. Good ones are expensive but very capable. I’m a”regular” bicyclist (and a motorcyclist) so I don’t really mind pedaling. But with adjustable levels of pedal assist I can take on hills and distance without sweating or wearing myself out. BTW Pedigos have a traditional motorcycle style twist grip for when you don’t want to pedal our to make starting out totally easy.

The idea also is to quietly explore the Campgrounds National Parks Camp stores & bike trails and get off the beaten path a little bit where cars and motorcycles not allowed. and can be easily taken with you super lightweight mine are foldable.

After much research we bought two Pedegos and really like them. They are a little pricey but get good reviews and have good customer support with a two year warranty. Another reason is that I wanted a bicycle that I could bring to a brick and mortar store for repairs and service. I have had bad experiences buying certain things online and never getting any help when needed. I broke my brake lever called them I had a new one in 5 days and it was repaired at a Pedego dealer no charge. The problem with Treks is they are a mid drive you must peddle and do not have a throttle only option.

Pedigos are sweet for sure. My wife will probably be on one this year. But I rode a Trek dual sport and was WAY impressed. I would miss the twist grip throttle but I much prefer the Treks more “road bike” like riding position/geometry to Pedigos “beach cruise” upright design. Pedigos seems pretty sold on hub motors but I’m not convinced that it’s better than mid. Probably both are excellent choices and I’m having fun shopping while I save up the required scratch. Also hoping prices come down this spring.

All Pedegos don't have upright design. My model is a ridge rider which looks like a mountain bike. I also rode a Trek before buying the Pedego, but preferred the Pedego. But its an individual choice, some people like Fords some people like Chevy's.

Since we 5 travel in a 24.1. My process was. Quality, Cost, Travelabilty
with all 5. Last year took 2 (my older elec bikes) on a very sturdy hitch bike rack made for 5 bikes. After securing the two....could not even add another bicycle. For 10,000 miles they were on the bike rack not covered I would never do that again my new system will take all 5 bikes they will be secured and covered it's too much an investment I feel to leave your bikes on that back hitch uncovered all those miles my own opinion. Like I said we have a 24.1 others might have tons of storage room everybody's different, step back look at your situation. Then buy what's best for your situation. I
Agree with Kev. Ford,
Chevy all good. After researching electric bikes my opinion is there are a few very very good quality bikes and tons of junk out there take your time. Cost doesn't always equal quality in the electric bike Arena.

We just got back from a trip to Hilton Head Island SC . The Scooter was a blast .
I highly recommend the Honda PCX 150 , very comfortable riding 2 up .
We even wound up on a highway for a cple miles and were zipping along at 65mph . Not that I want to do that all the time but if you need to , it can handle it.

We have our Harley Trike with us now, along with a car. I'm sure the day will come when it is time to down size so I am planning on going to a small dual sport bike. After that, maybe somewhere in my 80's, I may need to change from a dual sport bike down to a 150cc scooter. Then if I am lucky to be around in my 90's I may look at an electric bicycle.

When you get hooked on a throttle in your right hand at 17 years of age it is hard to give it up!

My scoot is a 1978 BMW R80/7. I haven’t figured out a good way to bring it along when traveling in the RV!

Nope. It was a sad old barn find that I bought for $400. Just finished a two year full restoration. Down the the frame which was powder coated and then back with mostly new parts. I think it’s better than new. Sadly I don’t ride it much these days.

reviving this thread as I struggle finding answers online - I purchased a Honda Forza 300 cc to bring along on my Thor ACE 30.1
However, I cannot find a carrier that can carry it and that is suitable for a motorhome. there are always some ifs and buts
Can you please recommend which one to go for that can handle some 430 lbs of weight and can be used on a MH?
