Hi-I travel with 3 big dogs. I have traveled for years with my dogs in sedans,SUV & now a 29h Outlaw. I swear by dog crates. I suggest you find at least a plastic - not wire-crate for her. Then figure out how to raise it up so she can look out. Then figure out how to secure it so it doesn’t move around. Sounds complicated but it’s not. Your dog isn’t too big & she doesn’t weigh that much- hopefully you will figure out the “how to “. Like the insurance agent-I have heard & seen too many stories let my guys stay loose in the RV.

Thanks everyone for sharing your thoughts! I've also enjoyed seeing the pictures of your four-legged travelers!

Here is a picture with our last RV. He was about 6 months old. The new one is a Class C so he just sits in the front seat.

Took a 10 day trip from Chicago to CA and back. I think we counted 12 people taking selfies posing in front of the RV in parking lots with him in the windshield.

And I agree with someone else who said that the reason they have an RV is because of the pet. That is us too ! We have a cat..our RV is KC's Big Box !!
KC lays wherever he wants !! When we are camped he MUST have the front bunk in the down position, as that is his bed and he is not happy until it is down!
In the evening he is all over the dash...in his fishbowl...or looking out the screen door or windows.

Happy Camping !

Our 2 male dogs travel in their crate hooked in to the seat belt on our Vegas couch. Our female princess has her harness on and it is attached to the passenger seat belt, then she sits on my lap or on a pillow between the two front seats. They are all buckled in and with the Vegas and the big window they get great visibility. Our oldest Terrior mix is the absolute best travelor

The only restricted places we have are the dash and the driver seat. At 90 pounds she makes it hard to see around her if she is up there.Click image for larger version

when we had our ACE(one of the reasons we bought was for dog travel), it had a small floor window by the co-pilot seat as mentioned earlier. We've only had the Miramar out once, but the one dog sleeps at my Wife's feet(window or not), and the others go from the sofa to the bed as they wish. 3 Border Collies and we pray for good driving!!

Copilot’s copilot

Harley makes use of his “desk” to rest his chin while taking full advantage of the A/C.

Our dogs ride

Our two Cavs ride on the couch of our Gemini, secured by sleepy pod safety belt harness. The harness does double duty as a walking harness. They are close to us in the cabin, plus they have a window view. Definitely recommend this safety harness, even tho a bit pricey. We have matching leashes.
