SWR about 1.5 to 1. Excellent report from our local repeater.

The radio is an old Icom IC-2100, sitting on the doghouse. Power from one of the 12-volt power outlets on the dash. Eventually I will run a 12 power cable from the engine battery.

OH LAWD!!!! You drilled a hole in the side panel?? LORT LORT.

Bring a chain in case you get stuck in the mud.

We might do the same, since we are not going to be able to make it to Orlando next month.

You ought to be here in Florida. The dealers are bursting at the seams with RVs.

Actually that is exactly where I am looking for a ham friendly piece of land too
I need to get down there to look at the RVs. If I could register it same day I would come down faster.

Is your email good on QRZ

There are lots of New Yorkers in this area.

Registration fees for RVs are not expensive here, but you have to be able to show a Florida address.

Yes my email is good on QRZ.

This (2015 freedom elite) is my first Motorhome, I came from an aliner. Where is the best place for a good ground plane? Will the roof work or should I use the hood. I know it might be a stupid question but antennas are my weak point.

setting it up

Just got my 2016 VEGAS 24.1 a few weeks ago. Trying to setup various antennas. I plan on a x5105 or and LD-10 with a laptop for QRP. I have not decided if I will try a full setup with an IC-7300 at 100W. All advice appreciated.

"Ham" Radio Operators

Hi there, I am WO4SUN ex DK8XE, ham for more the 50 years and travel with a 2014 Thor ACE 27.1. Live in Bradenton, FL. I use an Icom 7300 if I park my RV somewhere in the US with a buddypole antenna mounted on a flagbuddy attached to my ladder.
73 and happy travel

Don, WB4UBK since 1968. Will pick up my new 2019 Vegas 25.6 in a few days. It already has a few antennas on the roof, just need to add one for my VHF/UHF rig.
