You could always add a San-T-Flush, or Tornado system to your tank, and see if that helps.

Is Happy Camper better or just equal to Unique RV Digest? Saw several YouTube videos showing Unique dissolving dog food white Happy Camper did not. I'm wondering how either controls any smell?

The tanks on an RV hold waste. That is the end of their function. They are not intended to digest or break down waste. That is the job of a septic system or municipal sewer system. If you are using enough water, no maintnenace is required.

And if you see a leach field, you're in deep #@*&.

They're called holding tanks for a reason. They are intended as a temporary hold... then to be completely and thoroughly flushed. Problems happen when they are not THOROUGHLY flushed, and occasionally sanitized.

Residential septic systems are designed for long term separation of solids and liquid. Liquids are treated with chemicals, and the solids sink - filling the tank... allowing the liquids to filter out into a drainage leach field.

You DO NOT need chemical treatments in your holding tanks. Any surfactant (detergent) will make life easier... the rest is meticulous flushing and rinsing.

Speaking of sensors I'm normally able to keep the sensors working fairly reliable but it does take flushing and such. The current Omni has the bath sink go into the black tank. The explained reason is to distribute waste and not fill the grey tank so quickly. GF told me the bath sink was not draining so I quickly told her don't flush the toilet. Sensors read full. Quick drain and all OK. So I'm home and cleaning things out, flushing the black tank also letting tank accumulate water before opening back up. Watching sensors and went from 2/3 to full and sink starts backing up. WTH!!. I pulled the protective shield for the tanks in the wet bay and can see the sensors. They are "through the tank type". Full sensor is at the very top. Basically no warning it's full. Grey is the same. Fresh is down couple inches from the top. I guess that's someones warped sense of humor at the factory who put them in.

I guess that "Full" really does mean "full"...
Personally: I never let it get filled too high. I don't trust those pesky little liars!

Agree but I wanted to know what to expect from a new RV to me. Looking at where the actual sensors are installed. 2/3 is a good time to drain.

That info is worth putting in a picture frame on the wall next to the sensor readouts!
