Hugh,
CW has a porous plastic weave type ground cover that allows fluids to pass thru. It is about the size of our awning. When it got dirty we just hung it on the clothes line at home and power pressure washed it (gentle cycle with soap). After letting it dry it folded back up approx 1ft X 2ft and fit nicely back into it's original plastic bag.

We have researched Breathable Patio Mats online and have found the mats on this site to be good quality at a reasonable price, some come with a carrying bag. We have bought several mats from this site and have not been disappointed. We have a 16' mat for under the awning and a 12' mat to go under our dogs Exercise pen. We rinse them with the hose and they dry quickly.
Since they are breathable, they won't damage the grass like indoor/out carpet. Many campgrounds do not allow the indoor/outdoor carpet anymore, only breathable for this reason.

Qvc.com often has some good deals on outdoor/patio mats and carpets. We have a 5' x 8', which is small, but good for around the entry way to try to lessen the dirt that gets walked in.

We use a 16 foot patio mat like DocMike mentioned. Have had it for 10 years. Sometimes we use it folded in half. These woven plastic mats won't blow in the wind, but they do have grommets that you could stake. It lets sand and rain through. We bought ours at an RV show, and there are many vendors online. Ours is like this:

We also have the plastic woven mat(s) (2 of them as we needed 2 for the 5th wheel, we only carry one of them in the Axis.)

The first one we purchased long ago from a vendor at an RV show; at the time they were the only ones. The 2nd one I think I just mailed a check to the same vendor so we'd have matching mats.

We first started with one of the plastic Fake Grass ones, 8 x 12. But dirt and sand are impossible to get out of them and they start to get more difficult to fold up over time, also very heavy.

The breathable plastic ones that every one else is mentioning is what we switched to and I would recommend as it is light and easy to clean.
