A question About Showering

I know: don't forget the soap!
Seriously...
For those of you who have the tankless hot water systems:
When you're hooked up to City Water: have you changed how much time you spend in the shower?
We've found that we're actually spending just a little bit MORE time in ours!
(When drawing from the tank: all bets are off!)

I'm not sure why the question involves the tankless water heater. When I'm hooked up to water and sewer I definitely take a longer shower. Ido NOT have the tankless heater but never run out of hot water.

The reason that I added that: I wasn't sure if the hot water tank capacity might be a limiting factor.

When on city water...shower till the water gets cold!! When on pump only...shower every Saturday, whether you need one or not.

We only use CG water supply (IF good water) to fill the fresh water tank, and disconnect..

All coach water usage is via the 12v pump from the fresh tank.
added a shower shutoff (got from Ace hardware) on the shower hose to conserve water usage.(Navy showers)
AquaHot(diesel) for heat and continuous hot water..
(112 fresh/115 gray/65 black tank capacities)

Your results may vary

Curious why you wouldn't just keep the fresh water line connected.

Our water pump makes a nice growling noise when it's used, so definitely not my preference.

Do you get better pressure on your own system?

Had an episode with a former coach where the pressure regulator failed and over pressured the water lines, separating several fittings/joints...ended up totaling the RV due to the resulting water damage.
Our current coach using the factory 12v pump has a very steady water pressure regardless of volume(gpm) settings.
And the water pump and vacuum pump for the toilet are mounted in a quiet box.
The panel to the left is the main water shutoff manifold for isolating each water system.
On the gray manifold panel... The little copper looking fixture is the Aqua Hot temperature control thermostat for the dedicated water bay & basement heat settings.

ahh, well that explains it!

I like the quiet box idea...wish my unit came with that!

I quieted down my pump system by installing flexhoses on the pump connections to the hard plastic lines and installing foam insulation on the hard lines near the pump. I also installed a small expansion tank on the pressure line. I have noticed I get about 3 quarts flow before the pump comes on.

I'm with Saddlesore on this one. I connect hose but only turn water on while showering...otherwise, what little water we use during day is from pump. I also do not connect sewer hose unless actively draining tanks. It's best to let tanks fill completly before draining.
