How do you decide when to stop buying stuff?

Okay: I admit that I've got a real problem with leaving my "toys" alone...
Paint, decals, estra power cords, floor mats, XM radio receivers, foglights, extra lighting, extra skidplates, better plows, more cleats, different skiis, lower/higher windshields...
It just never seems to stop!
I just added some nice-looking Triton V-10 emblems to the front fenders, and I also picked up one of those Sewer Saddle Bags; to hold down the slinky when the eject buttons are engaged...

But does it ever actually stop?
Or should I just let my Missus kill me now, and put her out of her misery?

(I've even started buying sh... stuff for the golf cart already...)

Ha, ha, ha, soooo right. Just like a boat but instead, throwing money into a hole in the pavement.

As far as I can tell; there are only two known cures:
Bankruptcy
or...
Death at the hands of an enraged Spouse.

Walk around your house...go to your basement and/or garage...look in your shop or tool area...open the drawers in the kitchen...go through the unworn clothes in your closets. It didn't start with a motorhome. What do we do every year for birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas, weddings, graduations...the list goes on...we buy and give "STUFF"...most of it unnecessary. It's the new 4 letter word.

Whatever happened to that old phrase:
"A loaf of bread, a jug of wine, and Thou..."?

Marketing must have killed it!

It looks like I have chosen that bankruptcy option as I have ordered 2 of those 100ah LiFePo batteries. Then again, the 2nd option might be applicable because my wife told me to stop wasting money and I don't know what to say when the batteries arrive next week.

Either way it looks like I am dead.

I have a plan for you...
Tell her that the battery upgrade was necessary because you love her so much!
You don't want to leave her lacking for the power to run all of the electrical stuff that's in your rig...

You did it for her!

I have been using that line on a bunch of my previous purchases. It worked for a while because there was a lot of stuff we needed to get the coach up to speed for our trip. Now that we have done a trip, the "quit wasting money" greets most of my package arrivals.

I need to be able to show her a noticeable improvement, like the suspension upgrades.

We are heading to Cape Hatteras in October. We will leave after work to get a few miles under the belt that evening. Planning on a stop at a Walmart before heading out the next morning for the remainder of the drive. That boondocking night will be my opportunity to show off the benefits of the new batteries.

Nope..... I'm dead.

She can't kill you: who else would set up camp for her?

If you have a Thor, there is no stopping even with clinical intervention. I tried therapy, but the therapist was worse off than me.

My favorite line in a whining voice...."Honey, I did it for you because I love you so much!!!"

Funny, mine goes the other way. I have to have to pull out the stove, dinette and have a new counter top template made this Saturday due to the DW.

A nice bouquet of flowers goes nicely with that: doesn't it?

I can empathize. Always something to make RV better, more fun or safer

Sounds like we all need an intervention. But I am afraid I would be one who goes right back and get an Amazon fix as soon as they release me from the institution.
