Go to a rural supply store like Tractor Supply or Rural King and buy a box of insect repellent ear tags for cows. Use zip ties and hang the tags around the engine compartment, generator compartment, and anywhere else you like or need them. Not expensive, easy to use.

I wonder if wearing one around my neck would ward off gnats and mosquitoes?

Don’t know, never tried it, might work! Try and let everyone know how it works!
If you have pierced ears you could try wearing them there!

Naaaa..... Just get the tags that are numbered..and take your pick...
On a serious note, there are screening made for your water heater/furnace AND for the vent(s) on absorption fridges..... HIGHLY recommend.

Seriously, you're the second person to suggest something like that. I was looking to get my hands dirty and do some DIY. Bears further looking into. DIY might not be cost justified. Thanks.

When I store my RV I cover it with a regular RV cover and I've never had a wasp or any other winged insects build nests. I do still get those pesky spiders finding there way into my gas appliances but no winged bugs.

We've used moth balls for years. I put 4 or 5 balls in small plastic cups and tuck the cups away in all the gas connection vented areas like the furnace, fridge, water heater, etc. Set them so they won't overturn and spill the balls since they can be corrosive. Also put a moth ball cup in each outside storage locker of our RV. Keeps out most all bugs, bees and especially dirt-dobbers, which are a real problem here in the South. I change the moth balls out at least twice a year, to keep them fresh. Works well for us.

Has any one tried any of these. Peppermint Incense Stick you could burn them in the rv or just place them where ever. peppermint gum just stick it under the table or on the bed post. peppermint liqueur you could drink this then the bugs would no worry you for a while. Not sure about how much would be needed probable cheaper by the gallon Great for the cough too, helps sleep also.

We have used these around the house for the first time this summer. They seem to work.

If I can get my Doctor to write me a prescription for it: the health insurance would pay!

Yes, I agree with peppermint oil. I use in a spray bottle. Mix warm water with peppermint oil enough to smell the peppermint and 2 tbs of dawn dishwashing det. shake well. last about 6 months
