Going Trailer Shopping Tomorrow...

Not to sleep in: just to tow our Kangacruz golf-cart around behind us.
We've narrowed our shopping list down to these features:
Aluminum construction (no rust!)
Torsion axles (for better control on rough roads)
Radial tires
LED lighting
A Drop-down loading ramp

We're looking for a trailer that's about 4 feet wide, and eight feet long.

Hopefully we'll be dragging something home behind us!

With a kitchen in the front, a microwave, a refer, a bath next door, and an extra bed. Perfect...

Yeah this will do!

Bob, I would seriously look at a snowmobile trailer for what you are hauling.
They are built well and will protect and secure your cart. other items can also be locked inside and taken along out of the elements "grill" etc. Aero dynamic and easy to clean and store. Get a good used one and paint matching your rig. Happy hunting! Rev.

Open Trailer

If you are considering an open trailer, check-out the ones made by Alumna. I purchased the 6810T Trailer for towing my Rzr. They have several different sizes. They make some with drop-down ramps as well as self-stowing ramps.

I opted for a tilt-bed model. To load, there is one pin to remove, and the entire trailer bed tilts-down. I drive the Rzr on, and as the Rzr moves forward, the bed tilts-back into the normal towing position. I get out of the Rzr, and replace the hold-down pin.

I got the optional front, and two sides so I can also use it as a utility trailer.

Here is a pic of the hold-down straps I use. They make it super easy and quick to load/unload as well ATV WHEEL CHOCK AND TIE-DOWN STRAP KIT « Erickson Manufacturing Ltd.

The tilt-down release pin is mounted on the trailer tongue and shown in a pic.

The trailer with the Rzr loaded (before I installed the optional front / sides) is attached, as well as a shot of the trailer with the front & sides installed.

There are cheaper solutions, but the weight savings for an all aluminum trailer made it worth it for me.

We did end up with an Aluma: just a smaller version.
We didn't want a snowmobile trailer. I didn't want a tip-up design. (Always felt that a solid frame would have less moving parts...)
Posting a picture when I get back home...
EDIT: It's the 548 model:

It's a long sad tale...

My vision has been deteriorating for many years. Fifty-fours years of Type I Diabetes is finally starting to catch up to me.
After last Summer: I realized that I just wasn't seeing well enough to ride anymore.
Without the Spyder: we didn't need the Toyhauler; so we traded for a different rig...

Sorry to learn that Bob. I’m thinking I might give up riding this year. I’ve thought that before during the winter. But then when I get out on that first spring day I change my mind. But it’s certainly catching up with me and my wife wants me to quit. Maybe my biggest incentive is that I’m out of garage space. Anyway, there are other ways to have fun! Let’s go camping.

Great minds think alike. Mercedes, RZR, Aluma 7712HTilt.
