You Named Your RV What????

"Walking those decks stayed with me for life. I swear I could feel the Duke so much so that the hair on the back of my neck was surely alerted. He reminded me so much of my father it was uncanny. The walk, the mannerisms, the famous advise combined with that big no nonsense character made famous by movies. My dad was just like Wayne and I miss them both so. "

Great memories!

We picked up our 2014 Axis 24.1 today: Smidge due to being just a smidgeon of a class A.

We named our Axis "Odie" (short for Odin), the kids are fans of the Thor/ Marvel movies.

Anyone else care to share?

Our new Thor Compass is Dreamboat Annie; just Annie for short. The Heart song came on the radio during our conversation on what to call her. So far an appropriate name! She IS a dreamboat!

I think I may "rename" our Axis to "The Big Bus" just to honor the '70's disaster spoof movie

Family are all fans of Dr Who, and we just traded from a class C without slides to our 30.2, so it had to be The Tardis, because it is "bigger on the inside".

Our former "Runt" sported my homemade tire cover

Our Navion 24M seemed tiny when surrounded by the "big" rigs.
So we named him Runt.
I couldn't stand Runt's boring, "embroidered", off-white tire cover...so made him a new vinyl cover (that hopefully wouldn't offend anyone).

This cover seemed to create many parking lot smiles as we stopped and shopped.

Thanks for sharing this (lengthy) movie trailer.
I must have missed this epic film when it was first released.

Not an orginal name!

We have a new to us 2014 Thor Freedom Elite 23H. It replaces a series of VW Eurovan Campervans and Rialtas. My kids usually name our cars. Electric Car is Mitzi the Mitsubishi I-Miev. Red Chevy Spark is Sparky! Red Grumman Trainer aircraft is Elmo.. and his sidekick a Zenair CH2000 Trainer aircraft is Grover. So it was a surprise when my wife named the new motorhome Thor. She says he is the biggest and baddest of all the modes of transportation we have ever owned.

Reg

I think this makes at least 3 of us who named our RVs THOR!!!

I call ours Moty-Ho. Got it from the book, How Not to RV. Hubby refuses to call it that. LOL

I bought my Chateau just a week ago. I plan on naming 'her' but want to spend sometime getting to know 'her' before naming :-)

Park housing doesn't allow pets and I didn't like getting left home with just the critters.
Wife says she would be calling it the Money Pit if there were not already a movie by that name. I keep my mouth shut because this one was $10,000 cheaper than the one I wanted us to buy.

I sympathize. My first motor home was an older used model that we bought because my wife didn't want to spend the money to get the new great stuff. We dumped tons of cash into it as it fell apart. Roof, AC, generator, window leaks, battery's, tires, brakes, exhaust, brake lines, and more. In the end we spent as much to make repairs over 5 years as we did to buy it. The next one and every one after that was new.
