I just looked back through my cell phone call list and the number I posted is the one I called. Maybe they have more than one number because of the demand.

This sounds promising - and affordable...

Downside is I already use the OBD2 connector for engine scanning - but in looking at the adapters - am I correct that this is only drawing 12v power from the connector??
(pin 16 = 12v positive; pin 4 = chassis ground)

Seems I could just get this for less than $3 and wire up 12v to it...
16-Pin OBD 2 OBDII Female Connector Socket Adapter w/ Pins | eBay
(Could also get an OBD2 splitter for less the $10 - but the idea of being able to use away from vehicle is good too...)

Seeing this note in manual makes me think one other (at least) connection is needed:
"Note: Once the vehicle’s engine has been off for half an hour, the
ZTE Mobley Mobile Hotspot will disconnect and enter Sleep mode."

Though appears there is also a setting for how long till it shuts down - but can't tell if 'unlimited' is a choice...

Am I missing something else??

If your Mobley software version is at v1.01 then you can go into the setup and set it to always on. If it is not at that level just leave it on for a while and it should update to the new version.

Yes, some people have gone this route also.

So I received my unit in one day. Did not even have to activate, worked right out of the box. However, something seems odd. The first site I hit was this one. It actually looked a bit different. Came to this thread to post using it. Could read thread fine, but when i tried to post, error come back saying "to many redirects". Tried to post on another thread and got the same thing over and over.....don't know what gives.

I also could not find the ip address that ATT gives the Mobley so I can use Port Forwarding. I see the private gateway 192 address, but the Routable IP from ATT side is not anywhere to be found. So even though they have Port Forwarding as a setting, does no good without knowing the Routable IP. Would be great to be able to hit a Camera in the RV while out and about.

Just my 2 cents.......

Try doing a tracert to somewhere. That should list all the ips along the way between you and wherever you tracert to.

ZTE Mobley & AT&T

I've been reading all the posts on this subject and decided to call the Connected Car division at AT&T to verify that they are offering this wifi program at $20 a month for unlimited data. At first she told me that it was only available for certain autos, mostly high end foreign autos and not for motorhomes. I questioned her (Frances) and she took a minute to get updated. Yes, as long as the vehicle has the onboard diagnostic port, the device will work. This is quite the solution for our RV wifi challenge.

ZTE Mobley - Carrier Packaging (AT&T

this is on Amazon...however...what is the difference between this @ $179 and those you all found at $25 ???

This one looks like is the size of a deck of cards...accommodates 5 separate devices...

I think I need to go to my local ATT store and update our corporate account..it has been about a year n half !!

Links of the two might help to see what you are comparing. I have never seen one at $25. When I looked it was free with a two year contract or buy it out right for $99. But no one had them when I wanted one.

WanIP.info - get to know your WAN IP address - my WAN IP address detection

But since it changes at AT&T's whim you need a Dynamic DNS service to make it usable.

I spent weeks trying to find a ZTE Mobley. As AT&T , Best Buy and any retailer is out of them. It is a hot spot that is powered by your cars OBD2 port. But you can also make or buy a connector to plug it into a 110 socket.
You call the Connect car division of AT&T to sign up for the $20 unlimited data plan. This is my only account with them so you do not need to have a phone on there network.
I also bought a jail broken Firestick with Kodi.
I know can watch movies and shows on my big screen TV.
Hope this information helps someone.
ZTE Mobley hooked up mine today. Purchased off ATT Website was Free with 2 yr contract $20.00 per month. Delivered 2 days. thank you for posting !

In 2 years - let me know what the 'required upgrade with no trade in' is... Never got a straight answer from AT&T.
Also see it now shows a $45 activation fee along with the 2 year contract...

I bought the device outright - no contract, no required upgrade...
They claim my $25 activation fee will be waived when I call them after receiving my first bill... We'll see.
Nothing is 'free'.

This is what I did and they had no problem waiving the $25 fee.

I bought mine out-right and they waived the $45 activation fee. They billed it to me then credited it.

As I replied to ZTE who are clueless, this is the fix for accessing advanced features bracketed below by the asterisks. The additional thread is information only.

************************************************** ************
ZTE: As hundreds of other buyers have encountered this same issue of not having access to the advanced setup, I would suggest you place this 'answer' in your FAQ.

Answer: To gain access to the advanced features so that you can change out the timeout feature as well other features, access the below URL from a laptop. If accessing from a mobile device, such as iPad, iPhone or Android - you must delete the /m on the URL line.

http://attwifimanager/m/index.html#/login

Access to the attwifimanager for mobile devices will authenticate the user to an interface without the advanced features unless the /m is deleted. Apparently, there's a wifi manager for basic and a wifi manager interface with advanced features. Below, will prove the ability to change timeout in the advanced drop down within wifi manager setup.

If you wish you may reset the phone

Before you try the factory reset or hard reset on your device, make sure that you have backup your important files.

Restoring the default settings or factory reset your device will delete all your existing files and will go back to its initial state.

Factory Reset:

>>> On your device touch on Home.
>>> Go to Apps, then Settings.
>>> Select on Backup and reset.
>>> Choose Factory data reset.
>>> Touch on Reset phone. If you also want to remove all data saved to an installed micro SD, just tick the Erase SD card check box before touching Reset phone.
>>> And lastly touch on Erase everything and just follow the prompt to complete the factory reset.
Follow the on screen instructions to set up your phone again after the reset.

Best Regards!

Without RL firmware update, it is useless as it shuts off in less than an hour.

Is this common?
