If you are paying for electricity the 240V dryer will be less expensive and they are also much faster do dry.

Porthole I wish I had gone Diesel like you. Did you ask the cost difference to go 240V? It really was not much more for me to go 240V in the 6500 commercial version. They are the exact same gen other than the wiring.

With the diesel the options are not quite the same.
To get 240 you have to jump up to the 10k which is physically larger and heavier or a lower output (6K maybe) which I didn’t want to do.

So, the 8K inverter diesel it was. Overall I think a good pick. Fairly economical and more so then the smaller gas versions and quieter.

But it is a diesel and anywhere near the exhaust you are reminded of that.

I plan on running the exhaust to the rear bumper to minimize the exhaust fumes up front.

It’s not that big a deal but something I’d like to minimize.

Cummins=You buy watts from the power co., not amps. There MAY be a small efficiency benefit but it would be very very small on a dryer. We would be talking pennies per year It comes out the same for consumption. The benefit of 240v over 120v is in the wire size, pipe size and circuit breaker cost.

I have the 6500 Commercial Gen 240V. I was the first to do so. DRV no way no how would allow CUMMINS to install it even if I signed a waiver and paid CUMMINS direct. I had Slade at Rolling Retreats do the install.

Kind of a overkill on the 2 dryers eh???L.O.L.

DRV now does install the 220 volt 6500 Gen. Just got it on my 2020 40KSSB4. Works great.

By the way, it’s better to run the exhaust vertical up above the RV than to the back as the fumes can still affect you and you’re Neighbors. See the link below for a system.

I have a Genturi.
Probably 90% or more of my use out the back will be just fine.

And the DRV, like our last trailer has the exhaust exiting under the slide ....
So before I can even use my genturi I have to extend the exhaust pipe.

We bought a 110v dryer that has a tree to hang clothes with a zippered bag that zips around all the clothes and blows warm air from bottom that works great. Bought it from Walmart for around $100.

as a note about this comment: many of us do not come to 'this forum', but come from the right column of 'recent discussions'... we don't read and answer only discussions about 'our' RV or motorhome, but we are all welcomed to read, answer, and comment on ANY of these forums...
and most any comments are relative to RVing in general, if not always specific to any special 'model' or 'make', etc. as all RVs are built along similar lines.

Answering with a 'specific Make/Model' does also show that the answer was 'specific' to that make/model, not even necessarily what 'this' forum is titled as, but that doesn't negate it's importance.

We all can participate in these forums, but yes, you are not always going to get 'answers' from ONLY those who own a specific RV - we all enjoy chiming in. Pick and choose which you want to read and respond to, but also don't 'assume' that everyone else can somehow get 'confused' just because their response isn't 'specific' to what the OP originally asked, or what Make/Model the discussion may have 'started' out about.

I installed the 120v Splendide dryer in my 2017 and have been satisfied. No, it’s not nearly as hot, nor as fast drying as our gas dryer at home, nor a 240 that we’ve had in the past, but it gets the job done. We’ve been in the RV for four months, and it’s been a blessing for my wife. My five is wired for a 120 gen, so a 240 is out. It would be a big job to do a 240 rebuild, for us anyway.
