Well, less the a week using the Autoformer I have a red light. I woke up this morning leaning that we lost power when we were sleeping is made me investigate this. I have sent a picture to Hugh’s so we will see what is up.

Thanks for the replies, but is this to be used in conjunction with the surge guard that is already hard wired?

If you mean the Progressive Industries option, yes. I have the progressive Industries in my unit also.

They are sending me a new Module to install to fix the issue. Out of warranty I was told they would be $50.

Was it damaged by a power surge?

I would assume so, but not sure. Hugh’s said that we had a spike as it sacrificed that module. We woke up and realized that the power had gone out and came back. Not sure why or how long. Then noticed that the number leg was red. Leg o e is the one that boosts the most.

Where is the module, inside? I thought on the Hughes they were built to not open up and if you did you voided the warranty.

When you had the fault, does the new version disconnect both legs?

When I use it now I place it on one of those square lego leveling blocks to keep it off the ground and then use a Group 31 battery box over the top. The battery box doubles as the storage bin then for traveling.

To tell the truth - not really sure. THe first one I got used for a really great price from a friend $50. SO when I crushed I just started searching for a replacement, found a new old stock on ebay for $250.

Anyway, I was under the impression it would be beneficial when on 30 amp service to try and keep things running smoothly, maybe assist with keeping the air on as well.

I do not know if it will work as designed using a 50 amp version on a 30 amp pedestal.

I would think that it would. Just step down to a 30 amp plug and if that one leg is low it should boost it.

Yes it is inside the unit. She told me to call a certain person that works there so he can walk me through the install. I thought the same thing, so I will keep the email from them about installing it myself. It is a separate part of the unit. My leg one is not protected from a surge but leg two is. Plus it still boosts on low voltage.
