Brake and signal lights not working on DRV
When checking the signal and brake lights this afternoon at pullout, neither work. The running lights and brake controller all work. Any ideas?
I also ran down to a Chevy dealer to test the female plug and all there is working fine. All lights on the truck work.

We had something similar happen on our 5th wheel and it turned out to be the 7 way plug on the trailer was corroded. It looked pretty good, but after I cleaned it with one of those over priced little brushes, all of the lights worked. If it is not that, I would look at where the wires connect to the 7 way plug and check it there.

Update:
All power to the junction box works. I've isolated it down to the fuse inside the battery compartment was blown. I replace the fuse and the turn signals work. Tap the brakes and the fuse blows. Any further ideas?
Thanks!

Sounds like one of the brake wires is shorting. I would check the brake wires around each of your RV wheels.

I'll check the wires. Not not exactly where to look.

Tail lights/brake lights- Had a tech out yesterday. no short in the junction box; all tail light work if given juice. The bad new, the short is in the wire somewhere along the wire run from the front box to the rear.
So, the tech did a temp fix which provides use of the middle and top tail lights working for both blinkers and stop lights. When we get back home we will have a tech come and run a new line and/or repair the existing one. Sure that will be several hours of labor.
Any ideas where the wires run? Under the bottom or along the wall?

The wires are ran up the front to the roof and the to the rear then down to the lights. And this is done on both sides.
Good Luck

lights
Had the same problem this summer. I had a mobile service hook up the lights so the reds worked for brake and turn signals. I was at DRV for that and other issues last week. A screw in the front by the pin box was run through the wires causing the short. DRV repaired. Two days later I lost my brake lights again. I had tail lights, yellow turn signals and the yellow lite up with the brake lights. I am in a camp ground now so I took on the issue myself. After about 3 1/2 hours I found the correct power lights and somehow rewired it so I have the correct light sequence. What a pain my unit is a year old.

Either directional makes all 4 flash for me. Not sure where to start to look. Probably the socket on the truck. I hope it's not in the trailer!

I had that same thing happen as I ran down wires. I eventually isolated the correct wires. But it is a PIA. All of my issues had to do with the wiring in the trailer. Pop out the rear lenses and take a look. If you are not comfortable with wiring you are better off finding someone to do the work.
