To Foam-Core or not, that is the question. Is a DRV wall construction the same as a Thor Class C/A/B or X? Does it really matter?

Maybe we should start invading the MH groups with useless questions/answers/remarks...
But, then again, there are some interesting guys over there--Denman and Carlton included.

The 3/8' or so wall board has the foam core, used for insulating the walls from the aluminum studs.

When I was there in March DRV was stapling the batts at the top and running a nylon strap across the center.

When I did the tour during the rally I did not see any nylon straps.

The sad thing is their rigs are just as crappy as ours but cost more because of the drive train..... Imagine how much DRV would charge if they built on a Freightliner chassis...

Post 1 and 2 are it. He inquired about the possibility of foam core insulation replacing existing system in DRV's. He "quoted" data from website. My response was simply, polite and suggested a reasonable possibility..."maybe, since Thor now owns DRV, they are switching the system to foam core as they use this in MH's...centralizing their processes". This is a Thor Forum...if "they" and "theirs" wish to have a private party, exclusive to DRV's..."they" should start their own forum separate from the Thor Forum. Most everyone clicks on "New Posts". Nothing personal but it sure would be nice to have only DRW owners and future owners respond to DRV specific topics.

This is the ONLY portion of the THOR Forum I frequent.

This forum is for every body any where. There are Motor coach owners that have had fifth wheel some even DRV's Some folks do a lot of research on different items that may have a bearing on a subject.

I have been urging the club to look into making changes. The bulletin board used is not user friendly, several features do not even work.

There were functional problems several years ago and people turned to facebunk, which really stinks as a forum. Plus with a least 4 DRV related “owners groups”, cut and pasting questions across all 4 is becoming common.
