With all the discussion here about cracked caulk, and heavy storms coming tomorrow, I went looking and found cracked caulk on two slides. I didn't make it up onto the roof. I used GE silicone exterior as recommended by a mobile repair tech. I used an Exacto knife to trip away what old caulk I could and wiped with denatured alcohol prior to applying the silicone. Easy. Sucks I had to do it to a unit only 9 months old, but then again it sucked to have to make all the other repairs too.

I put 4 inch Eternabond tape on every seam, fan, skylight and vents on my roof. I NEVER need to worry about my roof leaking.

Spayed with what? How long does it hold up? It looks like they sprayed your shower skylight.

Please post a closer pic of the Dish base to roof area. Looks like caulking to me??? Did they remove the AC units?
Don't really get the coating of the roof it's self??? I have owned 4 units with rubber roofs and NEVER an issue. Proper sealant around and under roof top items is all that I have needed. Never a leak.

All this talk about caulking, is kind of making me happy that the new rig has one-piece seamless slides...

Joe, Yes at Demontrond RV. They are part of the
https://rvroof.com/ applicators.
Yes, we had the skylight done. After the hail storm, I replaced all the roof vent covers and the AC covers. The Skylight was the only plastic item that didn't get broken. Spraying it didn't cost any more than leaving it. I have LED lights I'll wire to the medicine cabinet top lights and put in between the 2 domes.
Ryno- Lifetime warranty, and No Streaking. UV protected.
Cummins- We had golf ball size dents in the plywood under laminate from the hail. With the rubber and TPO membranes, they can withstand a tremendous amount of punishment but a hard enough impact can microfracture the membrane causing leaks. The spray on was in the same price range as a traditional material replacement. They also replaced the aluminum roll edging on both sides.
They stripped all the appliances off the roof, all the AC's, Satellite, vent covers, all the Dicor from around all the edges.
The Satellite they remove, spray under, and reinstall with a caulking. They bed the baseplate into a heavy bead then caulk over the top. The reasoning for this is that the baseplates can be damaged and need to be replaced. If it was sprayed over in place, more damage than necessary would happen trying to replace the base. They warranty the roof and their methods. Caulking is not Dicor but a more practical marine based sealant adhesive.

Continuing,
The spray wraps down into the gutter track as well, to the seam from the membrane to gutter track is sealed for life as well. Covers the front and rear cap seams, vent edges, pipe vent bases, and the antennas, OTA and the WIFI.

Mind sharing what this would have cost without the insurance?
Man, that looks/sounds good.

For our Memphis unit, 44ft of roof +-, they quoted $8800, it came in a touch over ar $89500. Our original dealer, Lazy Days, hacked the original Dish set up. Demontrond moved the cabling and patched 2 holes that were made by hammers by the looks of it.
This included replacing the metal radius on both sides. I think that was around 300 or so as well.
The pricing is different per location because of labor rates. Go to the website for RVRoof and find a location you want to work thru. We chose Demontrond in north Houston because our doctors are in Conroe and it was convenient for us.

For a warranty replacement that sounds good to me. Never would I spend the money for any other reason.

Full body paint doesn't mean its a one piece body there is still trim along seam that has to be redone every few years . In our old 2000 Monaco Manarc I used to use clear silicon caulking from Home Depot. It worked great. Of course it has to be clean and fry, remove as much as you can before re-caulking. I used Alcohol to remove the residue. Good luck.

Back to caulking, I sealed the bedroom slide lower boarder trim with Lexel yesterday. You need to be quick. It was about 60* and in the shade. It is a two person job because the Lexel only has about 1 minute working time before it starts to skin over. I put down the Lexel and DW smoothed and pulled the tape. I think I got a good seal and cosmetically it isn't too bad especially since it is higher and you can't really see it close up without a ladder. I did mask off the seal area but you must remove the tape before it starts to skin.
Since I have sealed this area a couple times already and it always seems to crack I decided to see if the trim piece pulled away during slide operation. I does, not during movement but fully closed it closes up a little and when extended it opens. This is only about 1/32" but I think it is enough to crack to sealer. This time I applied the Lexel with the slide slightly open so when I close it it will compress the seal instead of pulling it apart.
The Lexel seems "stickier" than the Geocel but only time will tell.
