Cummins, I have been following this thread and chuckling along the way, but you finally caught my attention. When you say the Aisin transmission in your pickup is a true MD transmission, are you saying it's equivalent to the Alison 4000 in my MDT Sportchassis? Just wondering. Dick

No idea but is used in many Medium Duty applications besides the RAM truck. Same for the Cummins engine.

I suppose it depends on ones definition of a pickup truck and a medium duty truck.

Freightliner uses the 6.7 Cummins straight off the same assembly line as the RAM 6.7. Isuzu for one uses the Aisin.

I posted the survey on RV.net.

When did I say I was driving at night?

Freightliner does not use the 6.7 Cummins in their M2. They use the Cummins ISL9. I must add I've never seen, that doesn't mean it hasn't happened, an Isuzu towing a 20000lb 5th wheel.

I took the factory tour in Indiana. For 2017 the Freightliner 6.7 will be produced at a different plant. The 6.7 for the RAM will be the only engine produced there 2017 and after..

Well, that makes three of us in the Pacific Northwest. Jo and I are near Grants Pass in SW Oregon.

(Further derailing the frame discussion.)

Hope to be driving South past you Sunday Terry. Heading to warmer surroundings! Had the MC picked up on Friday and is probably at the distribution area in LasVegas.
