Has anyone hooked up their OUTSIDE TV to Satellite?
I would like to hook up my outside TV to my satellite dish. Has anyone done this yet. Like to know how you did it.
Thanks for your expert advice.

We had Direct TV install a Mini Genie with a RF remote and it works great. No charge for the instillation. This is not expert advice but it was easy and quick.

We have the service contract with Direct and when we change from one campground to another we change our service address to the new one. With that in mind, they will come to your RV at the new address and make updates/repairs as needed for free. We have the Main Genie satelite receiver in the living room and Mini Genie's in the bedroom and outside entertainment center. All work independently of each other. The new Mini Genie's available now as I understand are wireless. The one's we have are not but there is a cable going from the livingroom to both the bedroom and outside for the mini's to work. The cable is not needed for the wireless type. The remotes we have are RF (Radio Frequency) that works through walls and doors, line of sight is not required. This is a great system.

I have Dish in my MH. I bought a receiver for the MH. The additional charge from Dish is $7 per month. I'm not sure exactly what you are asking? Billing? Hookup? Something else?

If just for the outside tv, I would suggest unmounting tv and install a HDMI cable to use. Or if for entire coach, try:

Might have a wireless solution
My problem is that there is no Satellite connection at the outside TV.
However, I am checking out a wireless solution that may solve the, no cable issue, as well as save me a few bucks a month because I will not have to buy a receiver.
Sounds interesting;

I hooked mine up to the main "cable" connection. That didn't work because the antenna amplifier puts power on the line. So, I removed the line from the cable line and ran it to the Dish receiver and then ran from there back to the amplifier. That gives me Dish at all three TVs. I also ran HDMI to the main TV from the receiver. Of course, all three TVs will have the same show.

That sounds pretty good. Where did you run the wires?
Thanks

In my case the wires were already there. Except the HDMI and the receiver was right behind the TV so it was easy. Do you have a coax cable running to your outside TV?

Coax for cable yes. Coax for satellite no.
Thanks a lot. We'll work it out.

Outside TV -- new DRV's --- where does the RG6 cable connect?
Does anyone know where the RG6 coax cable connects inside the trailer? The outside TV is not wired for satellite but maybe you could put an A-B Switch on the end of the RG6 coax cable -- then hook your satellite to the switch.
That way you could switch to satellite or cable as needed.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks
Don

I just ran new cable to each tv. with direct tv you connect the cable to the left input on back of the unit, the one to the right is where you would connect your rv cable. if the dtv box is off you can receive the antenna shows, when the receiver is on you will receive dtv shows.
