Which Hitch???
My hitch dilemma:
On order: F450 with Hitch Prep package
DRV Houston Elite Suite, 44ft, 24,000 lbs. loaded
My research has found that to fit into the Ford’s Hitch prep package or “pucks”, and not exceed the weight limits for the hitch, I am limited to:
a. Trailer Saver (Hensley) model TSLB ($3600),
b. PullRite E Series model 1400 ($1500) or,
c. Reese 26.5k unit models 30871 or 30862 ($1500)
My question to this esteemed group, is the air ride system worth it? I struggle to see a $2000 difference. Maybe???
And if not Reese or PullRite????

Than I would not think that you would need a air ride hitch. I would go with the fifth wheel that has the most pivot points on it. I have been running a Reese for eight years now and no trouble with it. I do have the Demco Glide right pin box, which took care of the chucking I had

I currently run a TrailerSaver with a MorRyde hitch and love the way it pulls compared to the B&W Companion with a TrailAir hitch on the prior setup. The TrailerSaver will allow the trailer to "float" and the MorRyde will allow for and aft movement to eliminate 99% of the chucking.
If I didn't have a TrailerSaver, I would be running an ET hitch. Either way, I will always have an air hitch on any tow vehicle that I own.

Ugh...
It's only money & I guess I cannot take it with me, but it sure would be nice to keep it just in case.....

I have the Moryde and an AirSafe (4) air bag hitch. VERY smooth ride.

Tneagle, I don't think AirSafe makes a hitch to fit the pucks on a factory Ford setup.

Probably not. Mine mounts to standard Reese rails. I'm guessing these rails would still mount to the truck. Just not the pucks.

I use an AirSafe along with a Demco Pin box. Best combo I've tried, and I've tried several.

A 30K Reese came on our Freightliner M2. It works well but!...
I'm going to change it out for the TrailerSaver TSLB2H Air-ride hitch.

This is the truck after becoming disconnected, which should have never happened! The 5er was totaled also. The only reason I don't own Cequent (Reese) is that we walked away with basically NO injuries and NO lawyer would take it. NO MONEY in it for them.

I will never own another Pull rite. The bolts sheared on ours. Got rid of it.
