Hydraulic Jack Help

2012 DRV 5th Wheel
Leveling jacks are lowering while driving.
No apparent leaks.
Jacks remain extended when lowered, but slowly lower when retracted.
The rear 4 stabilizing jacks are not leaking down. FYI, two of the slides use hydraulics to operate.
Trying to identify components and find a solution.

Thank you,

Trent

Our 2016 coach (delivered in June 2015) started doing the same thing a year ago. Some folks on this forum suggested we take it to Roberts Quality RV in southern Indiana, which we did last August since we were planning to be in the area anyway. The repairs cost about $1500 but we have had no more slow lowering of the front jacks. There have been many posts about this issue on this forum, some folks have been able to get Lippert to replace their front jacks or at least pay for some of the repair.

First, kudos for having such a clean hydraulic area after 7 years. Some owners have said that holding the retract key down after the jack comes up seems to help with the leakdown, not sure it is a solution. Roberts as mentioned above is a permanent solution, has been done in one day for some. My '15 had the problem, and Lippert replaced the jacks when I went to the plant. It is a bothersome problem for sure.

Welcome aboard Zazoos!

You will get plenty of info as i told you over on rv.net.

I will be having my Machinist friend rebuild mine this Summer in NW WA State. He rebuilds hydraulic rams all the time. He has his own machine/fabrication shop.

Hoses

You may want to check the hydraulic hoses. I had one hose (orange) that collapsed on the inside. Everything looked fine, no leaks, but the hose had collapsed on the inside.

Good luck with your 5'ver.

Don

that plastic nut retains the electric coil to the spool no effect unless energized
