Makes sense now.Thanks

AlmostRetired, I just wish I could tripple tow in WA and OR it would make life so much easier.

Thanks for the bike compliment. I was real lucky, I bought it in January for $2,800 from original owner with 22K, it was serviced at the dealer every 4K.

I was going to put a swivel trailer on the back of a new 36.I thought lippert was ok with this.I contacted customer service and now they don't recommend this.they also stated receiver they put on is only for bike rack or spare tire carrier. Not sure what to do now.

I'm not surprised Customer Service told you that. I spent an extra $1500 for 1/4" steel to reinforce the frame from the receiver up to the rear axle to accommodate the swivel wheel. It is warranted. However, you may find it beneficial to look for a 3 or 4 wheel swivel wheel that won't transfer as much weight to the receiver. My setup transfers 50% of the weight and puts my rear axles at maximum rated capacity.

Wait, so even though there is a sticker on the tube saying the receiver is rated to 3,000 pounds, they're now trying to claim otherwise?!?!?!

That's 3k lbs of towing capacity. I believe the hitch is only rated for 300 lbs of tongue weight. The reason I suggested you look at the 3 or 4 wheel versions is because they don't transfer as much weight to the tongue. The two wheeled version I use transfers 50% to the tongue. The last thing you want to do is overload your frame and have fiberglass cracking and slides that won't operate.

I call BS on that! The receiver is rated for 300# tongue and 3,000 tow.

Right. IIRC, DRV calls this a boat trailer hitch receiver.

Lippert clarified their stand on swivel trailer today in another response. If frame modifications caused problems with the frame, warranty could be affected. The 2 wheel trailer puts 250 lbs. of tongue weight at each receiver. This is with a 690lb. fat boy.My bike weighs 590lbs. dry.Im thinking I should not be at maximum rear axle weight with a model 36.It uses the same axles as a 38 which is 1000lbs. heavier apples to apples.Alica at rollin retreats is also looking into this.

Swivel trailer came out with a slick way to load bike using rear wheel as power.Drive into wheelchock strap front wheel down and drive up ramp with feet on pegs. They have a video on their web site
