I have a portable surge protector. The first thing I hook up is the surge protector to the pedestal and make sure I have 3 green lights. If so, I hook up the rest of the coach.
On our trip back from up north to Tampa We stayed at a KOA in SC. When I hooked up the surge protector it indicated the pedestal power had reverse polarity. I went back to the office and they gave me another site.

My Progressive industries EMS is hard wired in my rig. I do always look at what the voltage is.
