Manual Operation of the Hydraulic Pump

Has anyone tried manually operating the hydraulic pump. I have read about using a 1/4" hex drill bit which is inserted into the end of the pump. Turning it one way is supposed to raise or lower jacks or run slides in or out depending on which direction the drill is turning. Could someone tell me how this works and if you have done it before.
Thank you for any input.

Rick

Our computer for the jacks failed and the only way to get the jacks up was to manually retract them. We could not get it to work as the end where you turn the pump was 1" away from the side wall of the cabinet. Since our MH at that time was a diesel pusher, we cracked the lines at the pump and used blocks under the jacks. We than dumped the air in the suspension and repeated the process until all of the jacks were in the stowed position.

Lippert has a video on how to manually retract the jacks.

Thank you for your reply. I could not locate the video for manually retracting the jacks.

Rick,

Try this link and see if it helps. Not sure if your jack system is similar.

Thanks Dave. Mine is very similar. The link worked fine and it was really helpful to see the demo.
I appreciate your effort in responding.
