MCD SHade Stuck

One of our manual MCD shades is stuck in the up position. As in you cannot pull it down. I've pulled the valance off, and see the adjustment screws for the retraction speed and set points, but not a release or button to let the roller unroll.

Suggestions?

My guess is that the spring inside is broken. Call MCD, they are very helpful.

We had one stick like that and my wife worked at it a couple of minutes and then just jerked on it and it popped loose. She did not pop it enough to pull it off the wall just a quick jerk on it and it pulled down.

We have the Slow-Rise shade by Irving Shade. Not sure if any of them are trouble free! You might see if there is a video on YouTube that helps with the diagnosis of the problem with your MCD shade.

MCD's advise was to "Snap" the shade down with the agreed on the idea that if I broke it, they would warranty it. I snapped it down, and it works.

Congratulations! Now you do not have to see the light.
