Mor Ryde IS axel support

We are about 200 lbs under max and would like to add the additional axel support I saw discussed. I have searched the site and cant find it and cannot get a response for Mor-Ryde. Can some one guide me. Thanks in advance, Dick

I don't remember where the thread is on that subject either but here's MorRyde's number: Contact Rob Kolean 574-293-1581 ext 256. That's MorRyde International in Elkhart Indiana

Rob is the man to talk to, he set us up for our 2" risers last summer. Very nice guy and easy to deal with.

Although the IS system does not have axles, it comes with a frame brace from one side to the other. The only time I saw mention of any extra bracing is SRE4000 Suspension System - MORryde Products

I used the wrong description when I used the word axel. The suspension has a square tube that runs across the rig. The item I'm asking about goes over that square tube to reduce flexing. I have a call in to Rob per Dans advice.

Are you having an issue? I was at the factory last Summer and had the risers added. My axle weights are 17,500# combined. They inspected mine and determined I was well within their specs. I assume your RV is a DRV? IMHO you are throwing your money away unless there is actually a problem.

While we were at MorRyde last summer there was a couple (with a DRV ) That was having huge issues with over loading. The cross members on BOTH axels were bent due to the over weight issues. Anyway what Rob and his crew did was to remove the axels, straighten out the cross members add the reinforcement bars and re-install his (IS) axels. The guy wanted the risers done at the same time but Rob wouldn't allow it as MorRyde was booked solid and Rob claimed his crew didn't have time to do the risers and the straightening and re-alignment so he had to make an appointment for a later date. (bummer)

I saw his axels before it went into the shop, I almost freaked, I had NEVER seen an IS system "sag" like that before, his wheels were cambered way out. This couple must've had a LOT of stuff!

I remember you talking about this. I just can't imagine how this can happen. With me having 17,500# on my 4 tires I am not too far from my tires ratings. This guy must have been at or over his tires ratings to cause this condition!

Thanks for the comments. Being close to the rated weight of the axels, I have always tried to avoid problems if we can. We tow about 13k miles a summer and some, as I'm sure most of you know, of our roads are rough as a cob.

You're right Ron, even I could see this guy's wheels were "squatting" out. You just don't see that on fifth wheels much less a DRV! They did an awesome job of straightening and aligning his unit though, I was impressed.

The 9k IS system is exactly the same as on the 8K that is being talked about. 9k on left center and right 7k.

2nd pic 9k top 8k bottom.

I think the difference is in the size/stiffness of the rubber.

The "springs" are different in stiffness. I think the 8K is 32 and 9 is 36 or something like that. The arm and the spindle it attaches to is also heavier along with the bearings and rotor.

They checked my deflection and even with 17,500# 0n my 4 trailer tires the 8K springs were within spec.

Had it done last spring. I think it was around $300 total. Well worth the money.

What size and rating of tires do they use on 9,000-pound axles? Do they go to 17.5's?

Goodyear rates the 215/75R17.5 H tires at 4805 pounds each. So by GY specs they are sufficient for the 9K axles.

The G tires are rated at only 3750 each so they would reduce the 8K axles rating to 7500.
