MW Died :(

I hope this is not a trend. The MW/Convection oven died. I think related to the door switch. Any experience with how warranty covers appliances? Would this be something the factory would take care of when I am there?

I would think that at a couple years old it would be something you would need to call a repair man to fix. The only thing the factory can do is replace, and I doubt they will give you a new oven. Maybe you can strike a deal and buy one at their cost, which will be probably lower the the cost of repair.

Are you out of your 1 year warranty? If so, I'm sure that the factory can replace it for a cost.

Looks like DRV doesnt warranty the appliances. Was told to contact the maker of the MW. DRV can order a replacement if the cost of repair is to high for me.

They replaced my fireplace while at the factory doing 1 year warranty.

I would contact Whirlpool and have a tech fix it under warranty or replace.

I am looking for a Whirlpool repair place, but I am not hopeful I can find one and have the repair done before I leave for Howe. DRV's price for a replacement is about $300 more than Bestbuy's.

My MW died also, carried it to a repair place. Cost 250.00 for them to replace a 15.00 thermo sensor. Not sure that is what it is called. The MW has about 4 in it. Can be found if you down load the schematic from the internet. Mine was the one on the left side looking at the MW from the front. You must take the MW out, which is easy. Remove the screws from the cabinet above while holding the MW up. The front of the MW drops down and the rear hooks on a metal cleat across the back. Remove the cover and then remove the cover on inside. Sounds hard but is not. Mine went out again and I replace the sensor. Took about one hour. Should have taken pictures but did not. Now we make sure and turn the fan on if we are using the convection oven. Lots of heat in there and it must get out.
By the way 300.00 for a new MW is a very good price
We have what the called a 2014.5- 41rssb4. It was mid year when the went to flat top.

Factory price: $816.00 Plus 7% tax. Not the best deal. The unit is under the warranty period so it should be covered.

Our residential fridge isn't working, Thor gave me a number to call Whirlpool. Whirlpool sent a tech from a local appliance repair shop, who determined both fans are not working (they are both getting full power). He ordered replacements, will install when they're in.

I would expect you to have the same in your situation.

The MW/Convection oven in my 2015 Vegas died while I was still under Thor warranty. Thor contacted HighPointe (the MW manufacturer) and HighPointe sent my dealer a new MW. The dealer replaced it with no cost to me.
