New to this forum

I'd just like to say HI. My name is Joe and my wife Marcia and I are new DRV owners of a 2018 39DBRS3. This forum seems to be much more active than others I've visited. We are not new to rving as our last unit was an Excel and prior to that a Bighorn. 2 Sunnybrook travel trailers and a Coleman popup preceeded that. We have had our Suite just 2 months now and are still figuring where to put what. There have been a few glitches, such as the TV and fireplace falling off, but were easy fixes. We are hoping for many years of happiness in this unit. I am confident we will have the nicest unit in our winter Florida park, unless someone pulls in with a high dollar class A.

Glad to be here.

Joe

Well, can't say you aren't resilient--"few glitches, eh? Did the TV damage the cabinet?
Hope it serves you well, and stay safe.
And welcome.

Our 39 DBRS3 is 3 weeks old. The fireplace fell out while being delivered to the dealer. According to the factory rep, they are aware of it and working on a fix.

To fix mine I doubled up the bottom set of runners (standard home depot or lowes part) and then drilled holes in the side and used 4" long clevis pins to hold it in while driving.

Got to laugh at this one, respectfully!! Boy, howdy...are we patient and resilient?!?! "No major issues except the TV and Fireplace falling off". That's what you call a seasoned, veteran RV buyer with realistic expectations!! Good job...enjoy!!

Well we ordered our 18 38rssa last year and picked it up last October. Only had a few problems. What do I look for on the tv and fireplace to see if I have problems?

The fireplace - if you have the longer then higher Furrion that is mounted on a pull out drawer.

They use self closing drawer guides that are not up to the weight and cheap "child proof" cabinet safety latches that snap and break off when the drawer opens during transit.

the TV and fireplace issues were strictly factory problems. The TV has a steel rod with a cap nut on both ends, except one of the caps was not installed allowing the rod to back out and allow the TV to fall from its mount. No damage and an easy .30 cent fix.

The fireplace is mounted to a drawer which is built from 2, 1/2" pieces of plywood. Seems as if the plywood wasn't glued AND SCREWED together. The screws attaching the fireplace screwed directly between the 2 plywood panels. There is no strength there. I added screws from both inside the drawer and from the outside which adds more strength.

Drilling a 1/4" hole from inside the cabinet and inserting a clevis pin secures the drawer.

Then there was the issue of the shower door track not being caulked correctly......... That was a mess.

The idiots at the factory would NO WAY reverse the "RAIN" shower doors so the rain side would be outside. This also would allow the 3 doors to stack toward the front of the RV.I removed the top track and doors as one unit rotated 180 and swapped the vertical sides and pulled the bottom track. Cleaned up all the mess and re caulked and installed it as it SHOULD have been!!!

Simply slide all three panels towards the front and reach to latch all in place.

You put the "rough side" towards the inside?

No, the rough side goes on the outside. A lot easier to clean flat glass vs nooks and craneys. Mine came the same way as Ron’s. Because of that the lock was inside of the shower and the glass locked up on the right side. If I ever have to hit my brakes the glass could break the lock. And would that be a BIG A@@ mess.

Factory had the 3 panels stacked towards the rear of RV and textured side towards the inside and you had to reach around panels on the inside to latch. Real SMART!!!

They "CLAIMED" that's how the showers were sent to them. I really doubt the shower door was installed in the shower and sent to DRV. Been in Construction 35 years and NEVER seen that but who knows. In fact I guarantee you DRV installs them because my stall is 1/2" narrower at the top than the bottom.

By reversing it places EVERYTHING in it's proper position.
