PDI inspection check lists

This is for PDI (Pre Delivery Inspection) check lists. I will post one that I received for a member a while back.

With regards to PDI's. Most of the dealers add a fee for PDI. This 'fee' is negotiable. First off, unless the RV is in pristine condition, which NEVER happens, refuse to pay or negotiate for a lower fee. Why is it that dealers charge from $200 to $1,000 for a PDI and sometimes they only clean the RV? The new owner has to take the unit, use it and than come back with a list of problems, 90% of which should have been corrected by the dealer had they done a thorough PDI.

Yes, all dealers have a charge for Pre Delivery Inspection. Some note it as dealer prep, others list it as PDI. My point is that it is negotiable and if the unit is not in good condition, refuse to pay all or part of the fee. When we purchased our 2013 Jayco Pinnacle 5th wheel from Camping World, they had it listed as a "Towable Unit Prep Fee" This was preprinted on the sales contract.

Thanks Fred. I picked up our new DRV a couple of months ago.

Fred, if our dealer had a charge for prep, it never showed up on the invoice and they were the cheapest price for our unit. I would never pay anyone to do their job getting a new car, RV or anything else ready to go.

I had no "add on" costs on my DRV from RV's for Less. The dodge dealer TRIED to add 700.00 on and I threatened to walk out the door. They quickly deducted it.

The file is WAY to big to post online. Your best way to get things fixed are just to go back to the plant and get it taken care of. I am heading there in about 10 days to get the punch list done.

PM sent. I wasn't thinking of getting things fixed yet. We aren't to that point yet. We haven't received our unit yet. I thought a PDI list was a Pre Delivery list. Am I mistaken? I was just asking because in your original post you said you would post one.
