Georgia you are exactly who they are making these rigs for. I paid I believe 7K above the paint job that already comes on this rig. When it's advertised an an Automotive finish that is what it should be. I am sure they will take care of the imperfections with no complaints but the fact is most people don't know or care too much about quality.

No disrespect!

Cummins, I have an elite which has the full paint and we paid another $3,000 additional to have the ends of the slides painted. I do know what a good paint job and what a show paint job look like. I have a '64 Fairlane that is black with a show paint job that cost over $13,000 with all of the prep and some slight sheet metal work. Black shows every imperfection and HAS to be perfect on a restored car or it looks like crap. The '65 Mustang has a good paint job that ran me $4,500. Most wouldn't notice the difference as they are both single color cars but the door gaps are not matched on the Stang, the paint has a few imperfections but it looks very nice for a driver/street car.

Multiply that surface area to get to the size of our fifth wheels and you can see why we have the full paint jobs we have. It doesn't bother me like some as I know they will get scratched and dinged if you use them just like a driver street car will. As long as 99.5% of the coach looks acceptable, I will live with the paint I have. I do plan on polishing the coach with a rotary buffer and then a Porter Cable orbital buffer to get rid of the holograms before sealing and putting a long lasting wax on the trailer.

Any minor corrections in the paint will be taken care of by that process but it will take a week or more to do that right.

Just a different viewpoint but that is what makes this site great.....

Hey they build these things for the masses. Sorry but most don't know quality they just see the purdy new RV and are happy unless something major quits.

I am a picky person. I made that VERY clear when ordering my RV and advised they inform DRV that I am. I have built well over 100 Medical and Dental clinics in my career and I would consider my self one of the best finish Carpenters out there. During my career I developed a reputation for being the Superintendent that did things right so when I pay this type of money for a Custom RV I expect it to be done properly. I am sure DRV will take care of all my problems. I am not trying to bad mouth them in anyway, this is my second one and this purchase was based on my last DRV along with how well they treated me over the last 3.5 years of full timing.

For me it is going to be harder to get things dealt with since my dealer is in OK and I had them deliver it to WA. No fault of the dealer we were just not able to get to OK to pick it up and go over all the issues in person and have them fix them.

Since I am so picky I am sure we will schedule a time DRV and their paint shop can take care of our issues. That means a trip from WA to Indiana. Never been that far East so we will use the trip as another UAS adventure.

We really do love our rig!
