How to adjust the baggage doors?

I would like to adjust the baggage doors on my MS. Anybody have a clue how to do this? The door rubs on the frame.

Mine was the exact same.

Loosen all the hinge screws upper and lower. There are a couple screws in holes that are not slotted. I made those slotted in mine for adjustment.

There are only two screws in the hinge itself, on top. Are those the screws you are referring to?

Those have nothing to do with door adjustment.

A strip of foam gasket material between top of the door and jamb on narrow side gap will push the door down and make the gap larger. Basically shimming the door.

Mine (similar door) was low and catching on bottom when closing. Prior owner leaned on it to get up from ground (which is a no no). Some adjustment helped, but also grabbed bottom of door and gave it a hard lift up to tweak the hinge back. I am not sure (based on your pictures) if the door is low or not. Just sharing.

Those rams are simply there to control the opening and closing of the door and hold it open.

If you have it adjusted so far off and force the door closed causing a bind on the ram sure the door will be effected.

Look at the picture again. Those are not "rams"; they are hinges.

Thanks for pointing that out. Same applies they are NOT for door adjustment, they are designed to hold the door open.

The "hinges" are really two aluminum extrusions that slide together. The screws that you circled hold a retainer on each end that keep the door and the frame from sliding apart. The "hinges" are not really adjustable, but you can spring them slightly. Be careful! It is easy to make things worse rather than better.

Unfortunately, I kissed a bridge rail and bent the hinges on three doors. It was a real pain to get them straightened so the doors open and close freely.

Your picture looks like the door is just slid slightly to the right and should be able to move to the left unless the left retainer is too long. Be thankful that it opens and closes. Good luck

I am NOT the OP.

Nearly all cabinet doors are adjusted via the hinges.

Look closer at MY PICTURE and you will see picture is rotated, this forum does that to pictures uploaded. The door opens to the side, not up.

Adjustment is made at the slotted hinges in this example. There is no other way. Period.

Your side opening door adjustments are nothing like the top mounted type that simply do NOT have any adjustment.

The op's doors do NOT have any type of adjustment. The opening simply does not match up with the door. He can "SHIM" as I mentioned to obtain a better reveal.

Mine open to the side also. In that case door needs pushing up or sprung up. There are no adjustments as on regular hinges with screws.

The original pics are from a Mobile Suites 5er, getting lots of MotorHome comments. DRV's have top "hinge" compartment doors with hydraulic rams to keep them open. There are a couple that stay up with clips and some that simply fold down. They are all the same type of door with no adjustment.

Those two screws - they screw into plastic stoppers.
The stoppers center the door and allow its removal if necessary.

On my TV door I had a slightly similar problem, compounded by the door frame being installed ‘racked’.

I took the screws out, slid the door side to side to remove the plastic stoppers. I cut about 1/16” off one piece with a razor blade.
The cut off was inserted in the non cut side to slide the door over.

Does that make sense?

TRUE!!! It's simply a door stop and hold open.

It's probably a piano hinge. Please post a pic with the door closed.

You are correct, it's not a hinge and not even a DRV.
