Thumbs up Screw fix !!!

Well I think I have the fix to the missing and backing out screw problem on the rear cap. I have had 2 of them with this issue for a while. I have only moved twice with it and traveled 7-8 hours on the fix. But so far so good!! I got a bag of the factory screws with the painted heads. Went to Wally World and bought Hillman plastic anchors, 591296 - #4-6. I started the new screw into the anchor and then pushed it past the outside rail to the top of the overlapping panel and then tightened it up.

I hope this works for you also.

Safe travels.

Good idea. I may need to try this, as the underside of the electrical cord reel compartment has come adrift as we are heading south. If we get to our stop early enough tomorrow I'll give it a go. Raining cats and dogs here right now.

I had to refasten my underside door for the power real also. If I remember correctly it does screw into wood. I added 1-2 extra screws and compressed some clear silicone between the door assembly and fender. Or are you talking about the rail that then goes underneath?

Thanks. The piece that contains the access door has dropped down. I haven't had chance to have a close look at it yet.

If its like my '15--I seem to remember they power-brad them and they work loose. Several 1 1/2" screw nails cured my problem. Might have been 2", can't remember. Spend some time getting it right and it won't happen again-----

Cummins has a few good pics of his repair in this area. I believe DRV has "corrected" the design flaw that caused the separation recently.

I used Ron's method to repair our ODS reel compartment door area. No more troubles once it's fixed right.
