Sealing the roof
I'm thinking of buying Enterbound tape and sealing the top of the front and rear cap, skylight and both fan openings. After doing that I was thinking of using some sealant on the edges of the tape. Is Dicor Self-leveling Lap Sealant or DICOR EPDM RUBBER ROOF LAP SEALANT what I would use? Has anyone here done this? Is there a reason that I would not want to do this? Thanks for the feedback.

Eternabond is so tenacious, it is almost a permanent bond with most anything it contacts. Not sure you need to seal the edges.
I sealed my front and rear caps and the dome over shower with Eternabond.

If you apply the Eternabond following the online video, you should end up with no need for an edge sealer. Not even sure Dicor would work on the E surface. Using a small roller will work really well at getting the E to attach correctly and make a really smooth seam.

If you do use sealant then you need Dicor self leveling.

rynosback, I did all this the first month we owned our trailer. That was about 1 1/2 years ago and it is still like the day I installed it. No need to seal the edges of the Eternabond tape. If I remember correctly I bought a 50' roll that was 4" wide and it did both front and rear caps. skylight and both fans and still had some extra.

I did that exact thing last year. Six inch wide Eternabond and self leveling Dicor. Gives peace of mind and would do it again.

I did the same with our old Carrilite back in 2011. It was still in good shape when the wrecker picked it up last week. The Dicor you do need to replace occasionally but the E-Tape is great stuff.

I used the 6" wide on my old 2006 Holiday Rambler Presidential Suite about 9 yrs ago. Used it to seal both end caps, the fans and sunroof in the bathroom. When I got rid of it in August of 2015, never had a leak and still looked good. I used nothing but the eternabond.. also used on my slides lower area, on the DRV where people have issues with leaks.. NO WAY, do I ever have to do it again, NO WAY it'll leak.. bunch of places I don't need to caulk .
I'd go for it. I will use it on my roof as well.
Jim

That is the size and length I was looking at getting.

The eternabond I applied had been on for 9 yrs and worked great. I'd preferred 4", but had ordered a roll of 50' 4", but when I received it, they had sent the wrong roll, but had only charged me for 4" wide. So I used it. Can't go wrong with it.

eternabond has some really well written tech bulletins and directions on their web site for their different tape products, as well as some great video tutorials.
I'd suggest spending some time looking through all of that.

I know that they make it in different widths, lengths and colors. But I was not aware that they make different tapes besides the mentioned above.

When I finally get around to installing my 4" X 50' roll I will NOT be using any sealant as I will be covering the old sealant. I think that's part of the whole idea if using the tape.

I could be remembering it wrong, but I think I remember that they actually did suggest caulking off the edge of the tape. Not so much for sealing, but for tapering that edge and so that the edge of the sticky part of the tape is covered so it doesn't collect dirt permanently.
Again, I'd suggest spending some time with what they recommend. A lot of info there.
and lots of stuff on youtube showing what went wrong when folks didn't install it correctly.... (hint, big messes and lots of work to fix)

Never had an issue for 8 yrs plus, just used the eternabond, never had a leak.. I'll stick with my last experience with eternabond... 9 yrs of no calking

What's the typical time from the coach manufacture date to replace the sealant on the roof? Our coach is just over two years old, we keep it outdoors year round but we're in the relatively mild climate of the Seattle area. I inspect the roof every month or two and so far the original sealant is not yet brittle. Also, what's the best sealant for the seams on the sides of the coach? How long does it usually last?

A year latter, I had to add a little sealant on some spots. That is why I want to tape it and forget about it.
