Worst Bay Door Latch Ever!

We have had lots of Rvs all kinds and sizes but this "latch" on our front bay door of our NEW DRV Mobile Suites Aire takes the cake for the worst design ever !! As you can see its already bending and hangs down past the door when closing , so its only a matter of time before it gets caught in the closing bay door and broken off. Such an important bay door...REALLY?!?!@?!@
Looking for suggestions if anyone has or has seen something better?
Things like this make me want to share some of the other crazy stuff we got when we purchased this "NEW"unit unbelievable, if we were new to the industry we might just cry!
Thanks!

Wasn't aware that is how it is held open on the Aires--ours on the Suites just stays open on its own. Older Suites had a plastic latch above somewhat like the Aire.
How about you add some of the gas struts in use on the Suites?

Gas struts don't really open the door as wide as one would like to make it easily accessible Anyone out there have pics of another DRV and the latch it has?
Thanks

Doug, mine has the gas struts as well. I agree, they don't allow the door to open as much as I would like also. Can your door when open, lay up against the side of your rig? If so, there are some fixes that might work. Can you supply a better photo of the problem? Thinking cap on!

Hard to tell from the picture if magnets will work.

I ordered our trailer with all door “holders” deleted.
I used these magnets from amazon and used 3m tape to install instead of drilling holes and using screws.

Another great suggestion...ordered the magnets! Not sure if they will work might be too big of a gap at top but cheap experiment...
Stay tuned will take new pic! Thanks everyone!

I just measured the magnets. With 3M tape they are 9/16” high each, so a total maximum air gap of 1-1/8”

Or, make up some filler blocks for one side.

Received the magnets, might work but will need to devise a shim they don't quite make it...
Thanks!
