YES this is what has happened. My 4 replacement tires have around 7k or so on them since being replaced and look GREAT with all tread ribs even with each other in height.
So anyone with tires dated around the era of the one in the pic above keep an eye on them!!!

Joe said his was on the rear. Didnt say which one.
Anijets looks to be the drivers side rear.
Looks like it would be helpful to all if we could learn what position and what tire date was involved to see if we can find a trend.

There is a known delimitation issue around the "0415" date code era.

Tires were purchased in 2012 and 2013. All had mfg dates of 2012. Blowout happened Aug of 2017. No warning (TST TPMS installed), traveling about 70 mph EB on I80 ~60 miles west of SLC, UT. All tires had ~75% tread left and were wearing even. MorRyde IS installed Sept 2016. Cold pressure always 120-125 psi. Since we just started a month long cross-country trip with grandkids, we just bought a new set in SLC and moved on (no warranty applied for). I repaired the trailer damage myself when we returned home.
Ran the last set 6 years and since we use to travel more they were all down to about 15% tread life left.

Thanks for your OPINION on our tire weights
Just want to say thanks for you OPINION on our weights. Taken with a grain of salt that is just what it is -- an OPINION.
Could you been more diplomatic on how you said it -- SURE-- but the negative way is a lot easier.

On ours, the tire was the rear tire on the fridge side, which is the heaviest All tires have no check marks, wear, etc. All looked like they only had a few thousand miles on them. However, the date code was 06-13. This does not mean that the tires were installed on the rig at that time or even a few months later Date codes can be 2 years old on old stock sitting in the tire centers.
Will find out today if I will get any type of prorating on this tire. Have a photo, but for some reason, I can't post it with my Mac. Will have to wait until I get home and use the PC. Ugh!

I think that tire codes are relevant to manufacturing problems. The tires will fail not matter what the circumstances, As in 05-06 with the 16" G tires.

No guarantee but that is the usual location for a road hazard issue. Front tire flips up something on the road and rear tire get's the pointy edge.

What the HE!! are you talking about??? There was ZERO negativity in my post. "FISHY" means there is more info needed.
It's "FISHY" that one tire right next to the other weighs so much more with the other side of the rV being so close.
Nothing personal in my statement at all. Are we good now???

If it's a road hazard you are on your own but they have been very honest in their evaluations in the past.

I’ve found Trailerwheels & Tires in Edon Ohio to have really good prices. We stopped there on our way south from Elkhart. They ship all over the country. I’ve bought tires & wheels there.

I went with TT&W when i switched from 16-17.5's. I bought US Made Alcoa wheels and GY "H" tires from them. Mounted/balanced ready to roll. Fresh tires and good service.

Thanks Ray, will check them out. Went to the GY center today and picked up our new tire. We will have to bring the rig in to them before we leave and they want to check the tread depth on the other tires. We will get some pro rating, just not sure how much. The dealer gave me the best deal he could and was super nice to boot. So was the manufacture rep I spoke with.
Out the door, $413 tax included. 9 1/4 % here in TN! Ouch!

Was just in to LCI service center in Goshen for jacks--another Suites from Austin area was in line ahead of me, in talking he had had one blowout that GY took care of, another that was recent----AND, in talking to him we looked at LR tire, ALL TREAD WAS gone, riding on casing. His was '15 like mine.....
He told me that he was thru with GY and had Contis lined up at Morryde as soon as he finished at LCI.
Beginning to wonder if paid tire claims/replacement is worth the extra money?
Still thinking about Sailuns for next season, been happy with them in past. My GYs are all Jan/14 mfg, getting close to nervous time.

Sadly. Tire blow out post needs...
Everytime someone posts a tire blowout. The only way it helps others reading the Forum is if we know the brand of tire, the date code of the tire, the miles on the tire, the speed at which a tire was being driven at the time, how the weight rating of a tire compared to the actual weight of the rig. Otherwise it's just another blah blah blah, Tire blowout, blah blah blah. Thanks ahead of time.
