Toilet water connection
Good afternoon, all. I’m finding the need to install a Thetford Toilet Riser under my Dometic 320 series toilet; hope it fits. Anyway, the riser lifts the toilet 2 1/2 inches and there’s not even 1/4 inch slack in the input water line. I need an extension with female on one end to screw on the toilet, and male on the other to screw into the existing fitting on the input. What size are those fittings? I’ve checked my documents; can’t find it. I need to do the install in the morning, so off to Lowe’s I go. Need a speedy answer, if possible.

I would use a pex splice and a piece in the middle of what came from the factory.

You'll likely not find anything premade that would work, but th fitting is likely 1/2". If you know someone with a PEX crimper it would just take a couple of dollars of fittings and a few inches of 1/2" PEX to make what you need.

It's 1/2" pipe threads.

Thanks for the replies, and Fulltimer, I’ve considered the splice, but.....all of my piping, connectors, and crimpers are home; 3 hours away. Thanks cummins, I’ll see what can be accomplished with Lowes parts.

Lowes had everything I needed. The store I visited had different lengths and various colors. I used a hose clamp.

My provider line is Blue and appears to be 1/2 inch PEC pipe. Can anyone verify that pipe diameter?

Why not just add a toilet seat raiser? A or less work to accomplish the same thing.

I have one already and they are a pain to maintain. Not to mention feet dangling while sitting, but the man’s part points right at the crack between the actual rim and the riser. If you’re not careful, you’ll get up with a wet backend and won’t even know it til you reach for your pants/shorts. Also you must be careful with the hose. Many times we have soaked ourselves and the floor when we have used it to rinse the bowl. Honestly, it’s a PITA and I would never recommend one. If you want to pay shipping, I’ll Clorox clean and give it to you. And, I haven’t even mentioned trying to keep it clean after each use, and I’m a clean person.

Probably too late to help, but it sounds like the easiest fix is a Sharkbite repair union. It is about 4-5” long and is designed to fill a small gap in a pipe repair. And yes, 1/2” pex

I'm still getting caught up from a few months of difficulties last year. But, I wanted to follow up and finalize this thread. I didn't do the install as scheduled, so I did pick up my crimpers, collars, pec pipe when I returned home. Made the extension for the water connection with no problem and the Thetford riser works perfectly. Neither Thetford nor Dometic would recommend the riser, and there is no confirmation on the web, but it fits, and it works. I appreciate all the advice/information that I received here.
