Spare Tire Access

While fishing out the power cord (stuck in the spool), I noticed that the spare tire was loose under the trailer. It looks like the cable had partially lowered the tire. I'm not sure if it happened on todays pull down a rough stretch on 285 in northern NM, or some time prior.

I vaguely recall that there is a hole behind the license plate to access the crank to raise / lower the spare tire. What tool is used to do it through the hole?

That tool was provided when I brought the RV. I believe the tool was hanging on the front basement wall.

I guess I should check the exact location to see how much I would have to unload to get to it. I think it is on the ODS.

Thanks. Rummaged around and found the manual slide crank, and tightened it. I’ll check it enroute to make sure it stays tight.

I would add a spare tire check to your pre-departure check list.....we lost ours somewhere between Virginia and Missouri and it's not cheap to replace.

Spare tire

If you cannot find a tool it takes a 3/4" socket and a long extension.

Thats what I have been using.
