Vanity Slide??

We were on the fence about this, but finally had it added to our build.

Those of you that have the vanity slide, does it give you appreciably more bedroom space? I have heard that it takes away from the storage in the slide itself.

If I am sitting on the end of the bed putting on my shoes, will there be enough room for my wife to walk through there?

Just wondering now. We've added it to our build as I said earlier. Hope it is worth it.

Joe

I have the vanity slide. I also have a residential king size bed (just fits). Yes it allows that walkway to be about 3-4 foot. Plenty of room. I like it a lot, as it empties up that space.

Note: Make sure that BOTH seals on the outside are on your unit. Ours was lacking one, which allows condensation to build up. DRV very quickly sent one out to us.

I don't think I've been in a unit that didn't have the vanity slide. As already described, it does open things up a bit. Looking at pictures on the internet it looks like you do give up some storage space on the sides when the slide is optioned, but it turns out we aren't lacking storage at this time and we would rather have the extra room to move around in. (Basement still isn't full and we have empty cupboards still. Woot woot!)

Besides that, with our trailer (41RSSB4) now we can say we have five slides instead of four. Bragging rights alone make it worth the money. ; )

Not sure how much this will help, but attached is a photo with the slide out. Wife very much likes the slide out. Looks like the dog does too...

Slide in. Our Dane would not be able to turn around without the slide.

No problem, it's always nice to be able to help someone out.

And thanks! While she may be little, she is fierce. (She lifts more than a lot of men that I know) The big dog is just a pansy though. Not sure why we keep him around...

We did not have a Vanity slide in our 07.5 MS and when we looked at unit with the slide we said no way were we going to loose all that storage!

Money was not an issue at all, we spent BIG bucks on things on ours just because we wanted it!

So we have a 39.5' long MS with 3 slides. We don't care at all we want storage.

As compared to the space between the vanity and king size bed in our previous 2004 MS 36RE3, the vanity slide in our 38RSSA provides a LOT more room at the foot of the bed. When we're making reservations and are asked about the rig, Sandy generally tells them it's 50 amp, ~40 feet long and 3-1/2 slides.

Just for fun I measured between the foot of the bed and the cabinets. There is 25" of clearance. We do NOT have the 4th slide, 1/2 slide as Rusty calls it!
