It's not really a water pump brand issue, it's how it's plumbed and adjusted. I can't speak to your DRV (Yikes! I'm in the DRV forum) but generally the WP is just a parallel source to the shore water connection, so while running it while connected to shore water may raise water pressure at the outlets, it will only run if the shore water pressure is below the setpoint on the pump, and it will use the water in the FW tank to do it. If there is a large enough difference then you may not even be supplying any water from the shore water connection as the check valve at the hose connection will be closed.

16ACE27,
That is good factual info--you get a pass for stepping on our DRV forum.

You solved your own problem on low campground water pressure.

Thanks Ted, that makes sense. Thanks

Good one Joe!

Rynosback, the problem might be solved by just using my own pump but if my wife starts doing laundry I get tired of filling the tank. Most of the time I just tell her to have patience and wait for the washer to fill. It seems like I read years ago about a 'booster' pump but with my memory IDK.

Glenn,
Have you ever checked the actual water pressure at the spigot for the times when you find it low in the trailer?
Joe

Sometimes the problem is not pressure but volume. You could increase the pressure buy using a smaller water line, but then you do not have the volume of water.

Well I don’t think my problem is solved. I’m back at the same campground and plugged my filter again. None of my neighbors are having any problem. This is crazy!

What brand, type and micron filter are you blinding off?

Is there a visible filtrate on the surface?

Cut the filter in 1/2 and see how deep the filtrate is penetrating the filter

Is there any odor?

Is the surface slimy?

Why do you keep staying at this campground then?

Well I’ve been a member of this outdoor adventure campground for 20 years, we can stay 2 weeks at a time, with one week off. I think I paid 3500 20 years ago, and my yearly dues is 296.

Are they responsible for maintaining the campground or are you and 25 other owners responsible for it?
