I have gone to one SOITC rally and that was enough. If they have stopped bickering about who is going to be the boss or what RV dealer is going to be allowed on site, let me know and we might attend one in the future. The rally we went to in TN reminded me of a group of 2 year olds fighting over toys.

WOW! I know that Alicia and Slade from Rolling Retreats are going to be attending, but I do not know if any other dealers are going to be there.

I don't think this regional should be compared to a national DRV rally, where much of the bickering seems to have occurred...

Wingnut, it was the national and RV's For Less was the dealer for that show. A bunch of Rolling Retreat customers made up their own T shirts and ran around the entire time acting like a bunch of spoiled kids. The wife and I were there to look at BUYING a new DRV and almost didn't because of the way we were treated.

We did eventually buy from RV's For Less and they bought a membership in the SOITC on our behalf. In retrospect, I wish they had just discounted the price on the trailer by that amount. Trust me, we didn't renew.

We enjoy going to the HDT rallies we attend and have met a bunch of great people there (including a huge percentage with DRV's) but have no desire to do anything with the SOITC.

I remember hearing about that ruckus--good to hear some detail on it, thanks.

We never joined SOITC.

Heavy Duty Truck rallies. For people that tow with a semi.

Maybe the group just needs to work out a few more bugs.

We attend a lot of rallies with our current rig and almost every event has been a pleasure to attend. We have averaged 5-8 rallies a year.

Most of the rallies we have attended and up being "Clickish" with some groups looking down on others... My truck is newer, my trailer is better, I spent more money, get better fuel economy, have the latest greatest gizmo whiz band that if you don't have your not one of us.

Anytime you get a large group together it is “clickish”, as people hang out in different groups. I know this because I ran a motorcycle meet for 100 plus bikers for 7 years. We all came from different walks of life with one common interest. I make an effort to spend some time with each group. They are the best group of people that I have met. We would do anything to help one another. I have sold my bike but still remain friends with all of them. Meeting many of them on my travels across the US.
It is cool to see the latest and greatest and get feedback on the items. As I might want to get the same thing.
I just hope to meet people with the same passion of exploring this beautiful country.

We won’t make the south central rally because we are on the west coast, but we are going to give the western regional rally in Havasu a shot though. The only rallies we have ever attended have been the West Coast HDT Rally (which I help put on). I am curious to see what another rally is like. There’s supposed to be 50 or so rigs in Havasu and we are looking forward to it. I even volunteered to give a presentation. When we retire, I’d like to hit some more rallies around the country (not just HDT or DRV related).

Got to Weatherford, OK, this afternoon--about 30 or so units here. Friendly social this evening was simple but fun and relaxing. Food and wine provided by Kevin and Tony Hollis, great snacks...
