Just Renewed my SD tags

Just some real world numbers. I was with Teri Lund for 4 years until she shut down. I then joined Escapees and chose the Box Elder, SD address. Plus you get a TX mailing address with it.
My tags with Teri for the truck, car and Mobil Suites for a year was $588. Now with the Box Elder address it is $531. I believe that the $57 in savings is the wheel tax that is charged in every other county but Pennington.
So with this savings, it is a much better deal to go this way. Plus you get the benefits of being an Escapees member and it is an organization that looks out for RVers rights.

Good deal. Actually the tabs are VERY expensive compared to WA. I would switch back to WA but CA recognizes SD for DoubleTowing my MC Trailer.

I was also with Terry and I am SCREWED because I could have renewed my DL by mail at the 5 year mark in September but since Terry's address is no longer they want me to spend the night again to get my DL renewed. Also need to get with Dakota Post or Box Elder.

I always thought I had to go back every 5 years to renew. From my understanding, you could do it on line, but you would have to show that you were there with a receipt from a hotel or campground showing that you stayed the night.
I think the only mailing service that is this way is the Escapees one. In the long run it is the least expensive and it gives you a lot of benefits.
